Coach Orgeron answered the question regarding the SEC office response to the plays he submitted for review by stating he was prohibited from commenting by the league gag order. Since LSU is a public institution can we request the league response under the freedom of information act.

I believe the Advocate won a similar legal case a few years ago over the search for university president.

Note to sanctimonious fans - don't respond with time to move on . Orgeron stated he submitted plays to the league, many of us are interested in the league response.

The SEC is not covered by the FOIA.
I wonder if the LSU athletic office is.

That is what I was thinking since they are a public run governmental institution.

I think the Alleva emails regarding the UF debavle were obtained through a FOIA request. Unless there is an exemption for communications from the SEC regarding complaints about officials you should be able to get them.

Vandy and other SEC schools are irrelevant. This is about the requirements of LSU to respond to FOIA requests. Though, the sae would probably apply to other public universities.

I'd love to see how they respond to Bama privilege.

Is there a particular form required or does the request just need to be labeled freedom of information request? Looking for info from anyone with experience at FOIA requests.

It would be very curious to see what was submitted by Orgeron and how the league responded.

Meanwhile Jimbo Fisher called the refs that fricked his team over "cowardly" and "gutless" in his postgame press conference.

I get that Jimbo is in a better financial position to pay the fine, but still, it would be nice to have a HC actually stand up for the team on matters such as these.

Doubtful Jimbo paid the fine, likely paid by FSU athletic department.

The SEC coaches and athletic directors need to become more vocal and go public with these egregious blown calls. Continue to shame them and maybe it changes.

Be cynical if you wish, but Trump and his supporters stared down the media and eh Hollywood and music glitterati and look what happened. The NY Times is even apologizing. Evil advances when good people say nothing.

If you're referring to the Federal Freedom of Information Act, it only applies to federal information, not state. The various states can have their own FOIA type law - if they do, then a state university would fall under that. I'm sure the SEC would not fall under either.

I feel like keeping the responses confidential is the right approach during the season. Once a game is won or loss, there is no changing the outcome and its time to focus on the next game. However, after the season, sometime in the spring, the responses from all requests for clarification should be made public. As fans, we deserve to know the responses and that the league is dealing with these issues appropriately.

Doubt this would have much effect on the psyche of the player at this stage as hey are focused don the next game. LSU may try to stone wall the request . On the other hand, they may welcome the opportunity to expose the league chicanery.

We have to think long game on this. Time to start a league wide movement against BAMA privelege. It has to begin somewhere.

Don't forget about Auburn. Refs have stolen at least two games from us in the last 11 years. The other nine schools (10 counting us) with football aspirations should all chip in and out-bribe the state of Alabama.
