Does anyone remember Skip Bertman in his prime 1991-2000?

I know he wasn't perfect but it seems that whenever he had a key decision to make he made the right one. Leave a starter in to face another batter or pull him for the reliever. He called so many great pitches in key situations. Sure he missed it some but boy it seemed like he was on more than he wasn't.

Miles on the other hand seems to make the wrong call at the worng time more often than not. He lives in Bizarro world. If he would just do the opposite he would probably get it right. Against Bama, Mett was throwing great and in the 4th qtr we shut it down and he pounds it into the middle and we can't get a 1st down to win the game on two occassions.

Last night he has 2nd and 2 and he throws two straight times. Granted Clemson had stuffed us previously but we were getting one yard each time. Mett on a rollout is a terrible call. Sure he didn't execute to an open guy but he has rarely executed the play all year. There is no way Mett was ever going to beat out Murray at Georgia.

Miles also cslled timeout at the end of the first half to allow Clemson time to set up a hail mary. Sure they had timeouts left but it looked as though Dabo was content going to the half without running a play.

It is getting tougher to watch us waste these great opportunities. Since Miles has taken over the offense we have finished no higher than 77th in total offense.

I wish someone other than a sarcastic Guilbeau would ask him serious questions about how long that kind of production will be accepted. And when he gives some nonsense answer they go back and re ask the question until he addresses it.
