Of course the refs at Auburn cheat. That's almost a truism.

All the arguments are based on opinion. My opinion is, based on the video, and the call against LSU for interference on a similar play earlier, that there was some cheating going on. These guys arent from another planet they can see the JH play was a catch etc etc.

That aside if it looks like it's going bad against one team it probably is. Some of you cocks act like that just not possible or something. Get fricking real, you think those guys don't care who wins? Yeah right.

There are some blatant bad calls against LSU and there's no disputing that, when it's a pattern, there could be cheating invovled. I'm sure you guys thought the NBA guys was clean too.

Again, in 2006 there were about 7 bad calls or no calls. Has to be a patern. I also included the JH catch and fumble out of bounds the ref said was incomplete. This happened in the firs half.

Doucet jumped to catch the ball before any contact was made.
False. He was touched before he left the ground and the contact continued (as a tackle) while he was in the air. The continued contact while he was in the air also pushed him further back.

quote:

If there is no defender around except for Brock who tipped the ball, then Doucet still would have had nor chance to catch the ball.
That is irrelevant since the tip occurred after the contact and the "catchable" determination applies at the moment the receiver is touched. At that moment, the tip had neither occurred nor was certain to occur. Thus it is irrelevant to the question.

The bottom line is that, at the moment contact was made, the ball was -- in the judgment of the officials on the field -- catchable. That is why they threw the flag. Then they inexplicably applied the subsequent tip to incorrectly overturn the correctly made interference call.

Watch the video, you will see that ED left his feet before the contact
No, he left his feet before the full contact that eventually took place occurred. But the defender already had his hand on Doucet before he left the ground.

The officials called the ball uncatchable.
No, they ruled it catchable and then tipped. Which is absolutely not the same and clearly is inconsistent with the rules.

I simply have a better understanding of what happened on the field
Even though you were insisting the the officials on the field ruled that the ball was never on a path that could have made it catchable, regardless of the tip? Yeah, you really have a firm grasp on what happened.

I actually dont get upset about the Doucet call since it was really not catchable. I know by rule that doesnt matter, but thats how I feel about it. What burns me up is the 5 or so previous ref errors that put LSU in that position at the end of the game.

Yes, Joey, the ball was ruled uncatchable. It was ruled uncatchable because Doucet had no chance at catching that horrible pass. Therefore, pass interference cannot be called.

In a related story, 1 + 1 = 2.

yes they do cheat. but with this game being national televised, it will be hard for them get away with the calls they made/missed our last twos trips. the refs will be watched very closely

That is debatable.
The fact that they use alumnus in the replay booth is not.

Whoever is ref; i hope they do right by both teams. The game will be competitive enough without their slant.

They don't and they never have. The 2006 game's replay official is a graduate of Vanderbilt.

So the last 3 times we played on National TV, we could get away with it. Damn, we are smarter than I thought

Catfish, please quit confusing the rantards. They are not a very smart bunch and when you use logic and facts they get irritable and start 12 page threads. A common ranter truism is if you say something enough it becomes true.

So, please quit confusing them. It just makes them a lot and it is very embarrassing to the real LSU fans.

Thank you for your consideration and compassion in the matter.

Best Regards,
