Miles is pretty much bullet proof at LSU for the next few yrs. LSU is not going to those people you listed, imo, and ask them for more funds to buy out a 15-20 mil. contract and then help advance another 3-5 mil. contract.
So, to reply to the question at hand, I don't think a new DC would give a shite bout coming to work for a HC who owns a 5 yr. contract.
Don't you think there are some scenarios (not just scandal or far-fethced) that would be game changers, i.e., where the movers-n-shakers would entertain firing Les?
It's a great opportunity for a younger coach period. Even if Les leaves for whatever reason, having success as DC at LSU looks good on a resume.

DC candidates are smarter than fans
Correct. What's more, the grumbling by irrational fans does not equate to Miles' standing at the university. He is in like Flint in Tigertown and will only leave when he's ready. What people see nationally is that LSU leads the powerful SEC in victories since the turn of the century and Miles has actually won more games in his last five than he did in his first five. Look for a solid hire or hires depending on how things unfold.

I have followed LSU/sports world long enough to never say never, but I really think the LSU investment in Miles at this time and for the next few yrs is just too big for them to entertain firing options.
With the LSU achievements in football since 2000 and the money they pay coaches, a coach, young or old, would have to be brain dead, or close to it, to not have interest in coming to LSU.

That is a very big claim, Prom.

You read what you wanted to read, I said I did not think we are in that kind of decline. Only pointed out a 8-5 season is 62 winning %. The poster said Brown had a 58% over 4 years. Not much difference between 62% and 58 %. Only ran the numbers that would put us in the Brown years was not cherry picking.
I do see the comparison between Miles and Brown being similar
This year we easily could have lost two more games.
I agree he is going no where.
I agree we more than likely with a poor QB will not lose 6 games next year.
