I find it very hard to like him and I'm almost embarrassed that he went to LSU. He's probably one of the most selfish players in the league. He thinks he's a whole hell of a lot better than he is. His neverending showboating and taunting is so unnecessary

All he wants to do is hit and teams obviously take advantage of it. He certainly has all the tools to be a pro bowler but until he changes his attitude changes he doesn't have a chance
My opinion is very similar. In '03, he was a joy to watch. His play was ahead of what you'd expect from a player that inexperienced.
He competed with tremendous effort, was a huge part of the team's success, and did so without all of the antics he's become known for.
After that, I started to dislike him. Following every hit/tackle he made he was jawing at the opponent. It's hard to believe that some of those hits never got called as a personal foul. Had he played at Miami, FSU, Tennessee, etc...LSU fans would have labled him a thug & dirty player. The guy behaves like a piece of trash.
My favorite Laron Landry play-

Because of this, you should be worried about his representation of LSU

What, is LSU gonna lost recruits bc Landry is playing dirty in the NFL? Or will LSU lose out on a merit scholar choosing between Stanford, Yale, and LSU? Or...what? Who gives a shite how he acts? He isnt breaking any laws and he was great at LSU. I dont need a choirboy to root for. I dont care if a football player is classy. I like my women classy.

Sending thuggy players to the NFL never hurt Miami.

Miami was feared and players wanted to go there and become NFL stars. In that respect, yeah. I just dont think Laron or any player's NFL behavior hurts a schools image. LSU fans dont hate USC b/c of OJ.

I loved Laron at LSU, but after his play/trash-talking on Sunday, it's hard to keep that up.

However, I will never forget some of his plays...there are some of the most memorable in my head to this day. I loved what he did as a tiger and I will always like him based on the simple fact that he played his heart out at LSU.

However, i can honestly say that that's the only reason I like him today. If he wouldn't have come to LSU, I would hate him. And I have a feeling most people would too, unless they were a Redskins fan...and in some cases, i'm sure some Redskins fans hate him too after Sunday.

"after what he laid down on Brodie and JPW, I am forever grateful"

...this alone is why I like him

I always liked his instinct and intentsity, but even here I had issues with his standing over QB's and smack talking, which he started to do more and more as his career went on.

I've been pulling for the guy since he's been in the pros, but quite frankly have seen very little of the Skin's games since he's been there.

So when I finally get to see him in a full game, I can only say I was embarrassed by his behavior yesterday.

Call me old fashioned but sportsmanship is still valuable to me and as bad as it's gotten Landry's display yesterday is among the worst I've seen in that regard in a sport rife with bad sportsmanship.

Put me down for a no, which is tough cause I'm an apologist for LSU players.

Old fashioned.

I like his obnoxious swagger. Life is too short for boring football.

I've seen plenty of exciting football without any of that. Again..old fashioned I guess, but that adds absolutely no excitement to the game for me.

Not to mention his awful fundamentals for a professional. That is just as disappointing.

On his sack of Brees he did everything wrong. Left his feet and launched himself with his head down and arms at his side. No attempt to wrap. He almost missed Brees cause he wasn't looking or wrapping up, hit him with his shoulder and Brees very nearly kept his feet because of it.

Well, if it affects his performance, then that's his problem. Doesnt matter to me. But the jawing and shite doesnt bother me.

Landry was the douche of the day on Sunday. His little tennis claps after each stop sealed his douchiness. The shot of him rationalizing to his team about his getting burned for a TD was priceless.

King Douche.

My only regret is that we didn't win the game by faking his arse out. Again.
