I hate how college baseball is such a niche sport. Those of us who religiously watch Lyn Rollins do midweek games have no one but Kyle Peterson to advocate for the sport. Was truly depressing to know we had no shot to fight back.

While I knew we had zero chance of saving the baseball season, but I was shocked and disappointed there wasn’t more pushback on March Madness like we’re seeing with football. To a lot of fan bases basketball is king.

I’m very proud of the coalition of players, fans, coaches, and ADs coming together to fight for football. I just wish they had done so for the other two - even for the twelve of us streaming LSU losing to Nichols on a Tuesday night because we used 10 pitchers.

Big difference is when those got cancelled there were a lot more unknowns. While there are still unknowns, we have a better understanding of the virus.

True enough, but it’s still far from under any real control and there are still a lot of unknowns about it. I think the best approach is a “wait and see” to the impacts of just having these young adults back on campuses first. Delay the season by a month or two. See where we stand in the middle or end of September. If things are going well then, go from there. No reason we couldn’t start the season in November. Hell, even if that means going to inner division games only, then a conference championship game and then a 8 to 10 team playoff and do away with all the minor bowl games, that would be better than no season at all. The thing is. This season is already going to have an asterisk by it anyway regardless of what happens. We’ve already seen players saying they are going to sit, players that have transferred due to the virus, and other issues that have already come up. Team stats are going to be down due to no “cupcake games”. Players ARE going to catch this virus during season. I mean, what happens if we start this season, LSU is undefeated going into the SEC championship game, Brennan is looking like Burrow 2.0 and he gets Covid and we have to start a freshman at QB and lose? What if that happens to Clemson? Or Bama? Or any team.

Notice Scott isn’t out fighting to save football. He has been quiet the entire time.

Yeah but we were in total lockdown at that point
Once nba stopped college hoops had to stop
You couldn’t bring baseball back either after that time off
They had some summer baseball but that was not NCAA sanctioned
I think basketball should be played this season with smaller rosters compared to football

It’s just a bad look when you are a top paid AD and the arky AD and coach are grabbing up headlines. O has been out in recent weeks beating the drum to play. Also could be weak br media not asking him

I think people should do what the medical experts recommend and we could beat covid 19 to a point that we could resume somewhat normal activities, sports included.

There is a huge lack of trust in the experts in general that isn't helping public opinion at the moment. Heck, medical professionals can't even agree on things and some of it is political.
