its no different at all. if anything, its worse (if true).

if it turns out to be true, jj needs to be suspended from the team indefinitely, just like blount was.

Blount wasn't suspended for the entire season, you fricking moron.

Quit starting threads, they get worse every time

Uh........... Actually he was suspended for virtually the entire season. He was suspended till Nov 14th (three games left in the regular season) Kelly didn't play him in the first two of those so Blount got 9 touches in his last game at Oregon and 5 in the Rose Bowl. All as backups if I remember correctly.

Most people also don't know the full story...
The bad blood with BSU started in 2008 with a series of very cheap headshots that knocked players out for Oregon and led to BSU ejections, that led into the 09 rematch and events that transpired. Everyone saw the punch, what you didn't see was it being replayed on the big screen at the stadium on a 3 second loop about 50 times nearly inciting a riot, and as Blount was being taken off the field he was struck by a BSU fan causing his reaction, the camera angle at the time was directly behind Blount so it didn't show it very well how he was attacked by BSU fans and retaliated, spurned on by the BSU video staff trying to incite a riot by replaying the footage over and over

This is the kind of stuff that went on in the first BSU vs. Oregon game.... Knocked Masoli out of the game on the first drive if I remember correctly. Bunch of thugs at Boise CC

JJ allegedly kicked a man in the face while he was down;

Are we sure about this allegation? Some are saying JJ kicked a man in the back and broke his vertebrae. Some are saying JJ kicked a man in the face and knocked him out. Some are saying that Jarvis Landry laid the dude out with a punch.

The public doesn't even know who's being accused of what.

And for the thread, LeGarrette Blount would have only been suspened for a game or two if he would have stopped after the punch. But Blount continued to try and fight the cops, the crowd, and anybody that got near him.

That isn't 100% accurate. Blount was attacked by a BSU fan as he was leaving the field and had to be restrained.
The camera angle for this was unfortunately directly behind him shielding the view of the fan that struck Blount first, and this has almost never been reported on because of it.
BSU tried to incite a riot, they were replaying the punch on Hout on the big board on a 2-second loop for several minutes, whipping BSU fans into a frenzy causing many Oregon fans to be attacked in the stands and one fan to attack Blount.

I won't argue with you version of the story, but I stand by my statement that had it just been "the punch" then Blount wouldn't have sat but a game or two. It was the video images of him having to be forcibly restrained and whisked away by Oregon staffers that led to his prolonged suspension.

Edit to add: Boise sounds like a bunch of b****** for replaying it over and over. Go Dawgs, represent the SEC!

I think the answer has already been explained, it isn't what they did was right or wrong, but that Blount was very obviously guilty, of it, and we still don't know what happened with JJ.

I also think a whole season suspension was extremely excessive, 1 to 2 games will happen. I hate that these players have to be held up as role models. If your kid goes around punching people because Blount did it you've already failed them as a parent.

I agree, the TV broadcast made Blount to be completely out of control, which he largely was but BSU wasn't completely innocent in the ordeal after first taunting him then a fan attacking him, with the bad blood already existing from the previous year's game making things very testy even before kickoff. Kelly had to come down hard because the media wasn't getting the story right and public perception was in a frenzy wanting Blount to be severely punished.

Blount was asleep during the Boise game and woke up with Hout lying knocked out on the ground.

Can someone please tell me the difference between Blount and JJ??? JJ allegedly kicked a man in the face while he was down; Blount snuck a man after a game. I applauded chip Kelly for his punishment even though it was Blount’s "SENIOR" year. You don't act like animals and this has to be taught. I think the same punishment should be handed to Jefferson if proven guilty. Suspend him for the season but allow him to practice on the scout team, and if he only gets in the final game of the year for a few snaps, then so be it!

I was at that Boise St. game when Blount threw the punch. (Not a safe walk getting out of the stadium wearing a ducks jersey to say the least). Two things though, One the player who got hit came up and taunted Blount (I don't think this is an excuse for Blount, and I think Blount got what he deserved). Sucker punching a guy though is a lot different than kicking a downed person. One you can do way more damamge to someone with a kick to the head, and 2 if the guy is already down on the ground theres no need to kick him in the head.

Blount had been suspended twice by Kelly prior to the Boise State incident.

Let it play out first. The Blount situation was cut and dry.

If it was proven JJ was kicking a defenseless person while down, let's see where it goes.

If criminal charges are brought, I would hope he would be off the team. If true, I could care less if our Senior "Leader" QB is gone forever at that point. Not who I want leader our NC charge anyway.

But it has to be proven before I stand behind what I say.

I think the one thing you can glean from the Blount situation is don't suspend based on a rash decision. The PR from this situation will blow over but the lives of the player will be forever altered. This seems to be the only mistake that I can tell that JJ has made. Blount was fat, not showing up on time for practices, and academic nightmare.

The one big difference may be felony charges. For whatever reason, Blount was never charged in Idaho.
