You are right. Look at the situation under Saban when the Iowa man scored and beat LSU. The man should have never gotten behind the LSU defense. Saban should have been prepared for that scenario. Poor coaching. So I know we wouldn't want Saban as our coach.

You're really comparing this to the clusterfrick that occurred Saturday?

OK I'm trying to be nice here but man you're making it hard. There is no excuse that he didn't think it all the way through. Zero.

And you can come up the the "gah lee he isn't psychic!"

If you really think that way, you are slightly on the dumb side. And again, any retard would think it all the way through. I know it might seem to you like this huge surprise but maybe it's because you're really not that smart.

And the fact that either you nor your friend brought that up as a counterpoint means your buddy is dumb too.

God I am so fricking tired of trying to point out that it's not just the last play that has everyone upset. It's everything leading up to it, and a coaching staff whose job it is to be calm, rational, and prepared for every senario be completely incompetent and out of control.

THIS!!!!

can somebody please explain why its so sooo difficult for rantards to understand this basic concept??!!

I'm gonna agree with you and raise you one. Let's talk about the last five minutes of the game. Hell, let's talk about the 2nd half period. It started from opening kickoff of the 2nd half to the end of the game.

Which has been the case for the last five years.

Way to defend your argument.

So tell me this. Using all the excuses you have for what happened at the end of the game, are you satisfied with the effort and mental accuity that was on display Saturday by our coaching staff?

Hell frick far NO! This one play is all I am talking about.

THINGS WE SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE LATE IN GAME

1). Repeat fades to same side on 2 pt try
2). Drop back on second and ten.
3). Drop back on third and ten.
4). Call TO with nine seconds left as opposed to however many SHOULD have been left.

Coaching cost us hands down. This play did not, and it's the one that people are focusing a lot on.

And this is why you don't coach major college football.

Never said I did, brother man.

this is the same basic clock management jr. high coaches have to deal with, and our coaching staff continues to fail miserably at it.

Name one other time this year that time has been that constraining on a decision. How can you say "continuing" about one play, which is all I have talked about this entire thread (not the other coaching decisions leading up to it, mind you), when this is the first play vs. time left conflict this year?

I don't get what you are trying to prove here. Stick to the single play that is on topic, not everything else that we already know about and have reason to scrutinize.

If that's to me, then I know this.

I see what you are saying, but that is an unreal expectation. PERFECTION is impossible. Did it ever occur to you that even you have fricked up on something that you shouldn't have?

If not, then it should have at some point in time.

I do get that concept, but it's not the topic at hand. see my above post.

Miles' defenders are as smart as he is! A pee-wee coach knows to call time out with 32 seconds left on fourth down. The $3,75 million dollar annual salary is an issue due to the fact that it is based on value. We are getting screwed!

FYI: Les "Gump" Miles makes more than $40,000 per year per IQ point!

Vote in new poll.

Sorry, but he IS being PAID to think and manage a staff, also paid, to be ready for just such a situation. If you aren't going to be ready, why throw the hail mary in the first place.

It was dumb. No way around it. It was also dumb to let the nine seconds elapse before calling time out on the earlier play.

You compared what your reaction would have been in that situation to the reaction of one of the highest paid football coaches in the country. Kind of like saying if I had been flying that F-18 and one of the engines failed, I'd have screamed like a little girl and wet my pants. I was simply pointing out you defending Miles based on what your reaction would have been is pointless. You obviously failed to comprehend this.

Ok, the "play' started as soon as the ball was down on the 3rd down play. Start defending the panic attack from there.........
