There was no "maintaining possession through the catch", or after hitting the ground
There most certainly was.

Kind of like the ground can't cause a fumble rule.
But it can cause an incompletion.

Stating 0-2...with that talented team.
Uh our 05 team was not this monster squad. Check out JRuss's numbers.
Just the year before, the greatest coach of our generation lost 3 games with basically the same team.

Does history change at all if LSU loses that game and Les Miles starts his career 0-2?
So he would be hated more by lsu fans?

Wasn't a catch
He got his hands on the ball and never bobbled the ball, came down on his right foot, still had possession of the ball. It's already a touchdown at that point. Meanwhile, while he continued to step forward and fall he maintained possession of the ball until he hit the ground out of bounds over a second later, where he briefly juggled the ball before regaining control, but at that point none of that matters because it was already a touchdown.
By the way, I'm not the only one that sees it as a clear but close touchdown, there is another guy who claims to have been a referee for 33 years that also sees it the same way.

No way that's a catch with replays these days

A booth review would have shut that down and we would have lost

Meh. It was before review and before all the new catch rule changes. It was definitely borderline, but fricking awesome.
You boobs don't realize replay started in 2005 and was available for the game.
