You people who focus only on the end result ( we won ) fail to realize that how we won and almost lost has a bearing on the upcomoing games. Unless Miles opens up the offense we will lose games we should win. Just my opinion. We can be happy we won but concerned about a poor game plan and how it may affect future games.

I will never get this... YES. it would be great for LSU to look like Baylor on offense and still have the same kind of D.. But it doesn't work that way.... I know this... LSU is 1-0 and has a great shot at being 2-0... Then lets see how things play out........

Why doesn't it work that way?

Since when can you not have both?

Yes, because we will certainly use the same game plan against State that we will use against every other team. There is no chance the game plan was tailored to the opponent and factors surrounding the game.

LSU went up big, went too conservative trying to protect the lead, and then won. I, for one, am absolutely outraged. We will certainly use the same strategy when, say, trailing against Ole Miss as we did ahead against MSU.

Because its Les Miles....... Its the way he coaches........ LSU has the talent on offense to do it,But Miles doesn't think that way......

Going into the game we knew there was going to be a very conservative approach to play calling. It was very frustrating to see Harris only throw on 3rd down and then to throw a lot of screens and to the flat. But I understand what the coaches are trying to do with him and they are right with their big picture approach. We deserved to lose last night... But we didn't, Fournette got his carries like we've been hoping he would and we won!!
What we should remember is what happened with Mett in 2012, we all saw the potential but the coaches started very conservative with him as well, quick slants/ underneath throws. But they handed him the keys mid way through the year and we all know how good he was afterwards. Harris will get the keys to this offense and the coaches know better than anyone here on when the best time to do that is. He looked great last night when his number was called, that timeout he called in the first half shows he had his head in the game and his nerves in check. Those thinking Harris will only throw 12 times a game and this is our passing attack going forward are being ridiculous.

So explain why it means people want LSU to lose when they come on a message board to critique the play calling in the 2nd half?

You wanna pin every win on the outcome of a 50 yard field goal?? I'd rather pass on that option.

Okay, so if every single fan refuses to accept it, like you are doing, how would that change anything?

Maybe miles was so confident because he knows, if we had to score to retake the lead in a swift fashion, Harris has the ability to do so.

Shouldn't have come to that. But first game, on the road, Brandon Harris, cowbells etc etc bla bla. That's what he was thinking anyway. Not really flawed.

And how exactly does Miles's shitty performance this past Saturday going to affect future games played at a later date?

I mean, you can't make some of this shite up what people say on here can you?

Great post. I was definitely an armchair OC sat nt. my teenage son who barely knows how to make mac n cheese knew MSU was comin back. 28 if two penalties don't happen. We have potential.

what his record when starting a qb in their first year as starter?

We know..the offense has not changed..if that's the case what makes anyone think our record won't resemble last years?

his offensive philosophy sucks...he should be thankful the D has been great during his tenure..that d win us many games unlike the o

Were all of you miserable bastards too stupid or too drunk to remember that we kept getting called for penalties which put the coaching staff in positions that they had to be more conservative than they wanted to be. This was our first game which was sloppy at times and the play calling was not off considering the situations. Would you rather Harris be called to throw on 3rd and 12 and make a devastating mistake that shreds his confidence or call a conservative play that holds the lead and gets us out of mississipi with a win so we can make some major improvement from our FIRST game of the season.

In the eyes of the polls we did.
Winning on the road in the SEC and jumping only one spot? And this after we were underrated to begin with.....

It was just a terrible showing in the second half by not only the team, but coaching as well
