I'm not sure if I heard him on the Weather Channel right or not, but it sounded like he said Boone just got almost a foot of rain. Can any Appys confirm that? If it's true, hope everyone is ok. I know if we got a foot of rain here most of our houses would have water in them.

Yeah we are okay! At 3,000 feet most of the water runs downhill....Time to get in the whitewater!!!!

It's the first time in history(maybe) that we have wished for a hurricane, or remnants of, to come throught the Carolinas.

There were 12 flooded areas in Charlotte. But with that said, this is the worst drought ever.

It has been raining here all week. Total amount is a little over 4 inches.

Yeah most areas west of Charlotte have seen between 4-6" of rain the last about 3-4 days. Whoever said a foot of rain, it must be a very isolated incident, if true at all. There would be a lot more water on my high school football field if a foot of rain was dumped in the Boone area.....

About 3 years ago remnants of a hurricane put my high school football field about 12 feet under water, first three rows of seats were underwater. That was with about a foot of rain in the mountains. Craziness....nothing like that this time around. Course our high school football field is right off the Catawba River so that doesn't help.....

There were some unofficial reports north of Asheville (around Burnsville or Bakersville, I think) that totaled around 11 inches.
