Go to tenn: some extra dough. not know if you even have a job after a couple years. Have a shitty team and staff. Lose until you retire
OR
Stay at LSU: remain an icon. Win awards. Make great money. Enjoy all the bonuses from bowlgames and conference titles.

A nice paycheck for Chavis......right up until Dooley gets fired and he can't get a new gig making anything close to what LSU was paying him after the new Tennessee head coach cleans house since Chavis's star loses some of it's luster with inferior UT athletes.

he has said multiple times he has no desire to be a HC.

I know. I believe him, too. But if his alma mater came calling, I think he'd do it.

Chavis looks like the type of man that loyalty is very important to him. I think the high character of Les and the way he treats his staff was a lot more important to the Chief than a few bucks.
He give respect and loyalty, he expects it in return.

The dude has a grudge against UT for how he was treated and hates recruiting which they made him do and he would have to do as a HC
Hes more likely to leave to be UTs DC than he is to leave to be their head coach

turned down a 30% pay raise
If he's making 700k now then 1 mil would be 300k more which is approx a 43% raise. That's huge.

Link? I do believe he gets a raise and I agree he deserves it but I doubt he gets mil. He just got a big raise last year (or maybe 2 years ago) that put him at 700k

No he won't. He is a career DC. He would have been a head coach somewhere a long time ago if that's what he wanted.

Dooley should be fired on principle alone.

Dooley
Who knows, but Dooley appears to be in way over his head.
I'm thinking the 152 wins and 75% winning by Fulmer is looking better all the time to many Vol fans opposed to the 18-20 record since his departure.
Another example of be careful what you ask for or demand.
