I have grandson that has moved in with me. 8th grade, 13 years old, size 15 shoe, 6’2” and 230.

Took him to a football camp in Springhill today and Devon White was there. After the camp the kids were getting him to sign their shirts. It appeared to me he was ignoring my grandson. After he signed everyone else’s shirt and they began to walk away he turned to my grandson and said,

“Your Makhi Reed, I heard about from the coaches and after watching you I can tell you got what it takes to make it as a linebacker. I want to give you my cellphone number. I want you to call me and I will send you drills that we do at LSU that will help you to get better.”

I am still absolutely stunned. He so did not have to do that. He just made a 13 year old boys, day, week, month, year.

Devin thank you sir!

That’s awesome! Devin is a stand up Tiger that represents the entire State of Louisiana well. But if he’s that big in 8th grade then Coach O and Dennis Johnson may fight for him to look at DL

Yep, Makhi won't be a LB.

He's already roughly the same size as our pro bowl NFL LBer Deion Jones is now...at just 13 y/o...with at least, 5 more years of natural growth.

Outstanding gesture by Devin, but Makhi may need some future tips from Rashard Lawrence.

Yes just starting the 8th grade at that size I realize he probably has not reach his growth potential. His dream is to play LB or DE. And just like all kids he wants to make it to the nfl.

He has it in his mind he will play college ball one day. Of course all the big name schools are on his dream list. He picks at me all the time, knowing I’m a tiger fan, about going to Bama. But after Devin did that this morning When I say hold that tiger he bust out a big grin !
