Your info is wrong. Godchaux has played mainly NT. That'll change now, obviously. But he was set to get a ton of snaps in the middle of our defense.

Godchaux won the NT spot because Gilmore & LaC couldn't cut it originally.
Everything changes this cause Christian got hurt & TV became eligible. Naturally Godchaux was next choice to move to DE after CL's injury. Our thinnest spot depth wise by far on defense.

he did in the spring, but seems like in the fall he's been mostly back outside with neal as the other end.

Been following the reports and Aranda has been pretty forthcoming with info about personnel. You can find articles from March where he says God beat out Gilmore & CL for that nose spot, and talks about God playing that spot as recent as late July.
CL getting injured obviously changed things, as well as the Valentine news. But if he had been moved it is a pretty recent thing

Dude, it's friggin August. Nobody said it wasn't recent, but it was prior to Lac's injury. Believe what you will...from March lol

My guess....they started to feel better about the valentine situation and as camp opened they moved Godchaux back to his natural position. I can tell you for sure he was back outside prior to the CL injury though, 247 even confirmed that a few days ago. But Lester you believe what you want, I don't really care to argue with you over it

This is like the Ron Brooks and Jai Eugene moves to Safety in the offseason a few years ago. Everyone was sure Eugene or Brooks would be our starting FS because that is all they played in the spring. Then sure enough start of season, the guys are back at their natural positions.
Godchaux will be the DE which is where Aranda wanted him originally until LaC and Gilmore couldn't get it done. Valentine restores order and Godchaux goes back to where he should be at DE.
