No it doesn't. He's tired of working with a hard headed offensive minded coach that only wants his QB to hand off or pass on 3rd down.

Makes us look weak IMHO. I don't see any coaches from Bama making lateral moves. I remember several years back we were supposed to get their women's softball coach I believe? They quickly talked him back into the system.

Amazing LSU fanbase.... two weeks ago it's announced LSU has highest paid assistant coaches in college football... outrage that we are overpaying and underperforming (personally I don't think either).... then today Chavis is leaving for $350,000 a year and an extra year on his contract... outrage that LSU doesn't match or better the offer....

Well -- NONE of this has been in the public's view --- Chavis has been well paid and is well paid... if he's choosing to leave, either he really wants the money or he didn't negotiate with LSU, I belive.

No what does it say about Chavis! I understand the business part, but to me he showed me has no class. A true coach wouldn't turn his back on his players. I don't blame him for leaving, but it's obvious he didn't prepare his side of the ball and his adjustments were crap. He gave up on the kids that have fought hard for him, and probably came here for him! A coach should always put his family/players first, and if he couldn't do his job he should have left earlier and let someone else try. The kids are the ones who suffered, not us. Enjoy your pay raise. I won't miss 3rd and Chavis , and especially won't miss a man who can turn his back on his kids so easily! Can't wait to beat you on a last second drive next year.

Whoever replaces Chavis will have the opportunity to coach an insane level of talent. ......and if the new coordinator can develop the talent that has been sitting on the sidelines for the last year or two, he'll be very successful......and I am talking about Bain, Gilmore, Garrett, Bower, Herron and on and on and on.

Add to this young talent like Lealaimatafao, Valentine, Teuhema.....and the defense will be just fine.
