We shite on Sloan but I will always kinda fell for him when it comes to the underwood situation. He went all in busted his arse off recruiting that kid and securing his commitment only for the work he put in on building that relationship to disappear when big time dollar signs were brought to the table without any sort of backup plan . The underwood recruitment was when I truly realized relationships truly have little to no weight in today’s NIL world.

He’s lost all sympathy as a play caller, but you are 100% correct. Nothing about the Underwood situation falls on him. That was Larry Ellison’s fricking sugar baby and the dickhead in chief at Barstool whipping up a money storm.

Wholeheartedly agree . His anemic playcalling is well documented but the underwood flip was fully out of his hands. We were super close to getting him to the finish line and by all accounts underwood reiterated he was locked him when he came into town for that disasterclass bama game.

However, Once Larry Ellison was brought to the table cuz of his Michigan loving wife it was over the Sloan relationship edge we had blew up in smoke and the rest is history. Glad we bounced back in the portal but def was the most gutting flip in LSU history cuz we knew if money was equal he would be a Tiger right now.

Listening to Carter and AYS, one of them spoke to someone from ND, and they said that divorce was always going to happen. It happened at ND, and it was always going to happen at LSU.

Again, it was not a forcing out. But there is some truth to it. it was more of a situation where at least from what I have heard was that Denbrock was going to do 1 more year and Kelly decided to make the move a season earlier. It was not Kelly forcing him out.

But again like all things there are multiple sides to the story and the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Denbrock wanted to get back closer to family and midwest and be with a Defensive Coach who would leave his offense alone. But BK also wanted to elevate Sloan because he liked the way he broke down film and scouted.

DENBROCK'S WIFE WANTED TO MOVE BACK TO INDIANA

JUST BECAUSE DENBROCK LEFT DOESN’T MEAN YOU HAVE TO HIRE SLOAN AS OC.

Offense would definitely be better with Denbrock but we were also pretty ineffective running the ball with him outside of Daniels being a generational player
