A vaccination is expected to be available at some point. The can only has to go so far.

There's a vaccination for the flu and 100k people still die per year. It doesn't mean anything. It's a political response to hopefully have a different president by November.

Baton Rouge economy is certainly not based on 7/8 weekends on a college campus

The economy won’t completely collapse but there are certainly a ton of small businesses that depend on those 7/8 days a year.

Gonna be rough.

If the statistical models are correct, regardless of what we do short of terrorists actively seeking the virus there will be less than 3,000 cases daily nationwide by October 1st. If that holds true, heads will explode when we get into November and no football.

Sure, people have only been waiting for a flu vaccine for 70 years. Any day now
Huh. Are you saying there is no flu vaccine? Time to wake up from your 90 year hibernation.

You assume we will have enough dosages. And that People will even be willing to take it.
I assume nothing and am not even saying it's the answer.

So what. There is no doubt more than 100k a year don't take the vaccination. And if nobody did don't you think that number would be much greater. Ya'll have to think past your nose sometime. Geez.

recent studies show that flu vaccination reduces the risk of flu illness by between 40% and 60% among the overall population during seasons when most circulating flu viruses are well-matched to the flu vaccine.

Which is why what the SEC is doing and waiting until the end of September to play makes sense.

BUT, LSU will still be unbeaten College Football Champions through 2020, into 2021.

Can we claim 2?

No indciation that the SEC is ready to cancel

quote:

“That’s the reason we moved the start of the season back (to Sept. 26), to see what happened when the students come back to school and those kinds of things,” the source said. “Why would we do it now? There’s no reason. Some people are concerned about whether we’ll be able to do it, but we don’t have to make that decision yet.”

The source laughed at the narrative that the Mid-American Conference’s decision to cancel fall sports would impact the Power 5.

“I’ve read all those stories, but why would we care what the MAC does?” he said.

What if the Big Ten or Pac-12 or both decided to bail out on the season?

“I’m sure that would have an impact,” the source said, “but I believe ESPN would pay a lot of money to televise our games.”

If there is no college football there won't be any college basketball either. CBB will get pushed back to January with the hope that President Biden can magically make it go away. The media will be saying by then it is safe to play sports when things will be no different than they are today.

I've read numerous comments that Trump should have locked down the entire country. What about the thousands of protesters? I don't want to hear that they wore masks. They didn't socially distance and you can't convince me that the protests did not spread the virus.

Pat Forde had a recent article in which he blamed Trump for the spread of the virus. No mention about the protests. He's a POS.

He is a liberal stooge because he is reporting what now every major sports outlet is reporting. The other day the MS Governor, a Republican, and you can't get more conservative than a MS Republican, an Alabama one might match it, issued a State Directive ordering masks in all public outings for his entire State (John Bell hasn't done that in LA). He said, and this is basically a quote, if MS folks want College and HS football, then the slowing down of the growth of COVID-19 has to happen ASAP.

Delly is not the only guy reporting this, the Advocate just an hour ago went with the same story. You think the Advocate would run that story unless their sources at LSU were not airtight.

Dennis Dodd is reporting it, Dan Wetzel at Yahoo sports is reporting it. The reporter at Saturday down South is reporting it, Connor O'Gara.

Finebaum, and I must admit, I never watched him that much till this summer, but he has had AD's and Conference commissioners on his show all summer and been a voice of reason with some wacko callers. One guy from Alabama, Jim from Mobile or somewhere basically said that canceling College football was the mark of the devil and a sign that the world was coming to an end in 2020. That is one crazy bleeper to think that. Finebaum to his credit asked something to the effect why not when WW2 happened or Vietnam, or last year or next year, etc, Finebaum wisely said well I thought you might have had inside information.

So if football is cancelled what are some of you going to do, go down to the MS river bridge and jump off!!
