so you're telling me this is 1's v. 3's or 1's v. 2's:

WHITE DT's
Drake
Al Woods
Charles Alexander
Cordian Hagans
Dennis Johnson

PURPLE DT's

none

Well we KNOW at least it is the 1's v. 2's so that means JJ and JL have to be 1 and 3 or 4 string QBs, so do you think that after JJ finished the year about as good as it get would get dropped to 3rd string QB?????????????

Shep is 3rd team and Purple Qb. JJ and JL will both work with White team. Both get an equal opportunity that way. I realize you band guys never played in an intersquad game, but the coach divides team in ways that allow him to obtain info about situations. It appears Miles is letting JJ and JL each work with first team. RS is not second team. The White team on paper is much better and more experienced than the Purple squad.

BATON ROUGE -- LSU’s annual spring game will feature the first offense and defense going against the second offense and defense as the coaching staff divided the roster on Thursday in anticipation for Saturday’s contest

The article on LSUSPORTS.net

For TortiousTiger too, man do a little research, I know that TD.com is cool to get info from, but you should try so other avenues to gather some info, but I know LSUsports.net isn't very popular these days

It also appears that having RS on Purple team allows !st defense a chance to defend a very mobil QB which helps them get better.RS appears to be 3rd team.

fine, have it your way.

RS is second string over JL.

RM is second string over Keiland

All we have are first string DTs.

I, for one, have read LSUsports.net. They made a bunch of general statements. If you take a look at the rosters for the two teams you will quickly realize that they are NOT divided according to any hard and fast rule regarding their placement in the depth chart. Otherwise things would be very different than they are.

Undoubtedly the teams were divided according to Miles' desire to evaluate how certain players perform under certain conditions. Having JJ and JL on the same could be saying any number of things:

-JJ and JL will BOTH be used in the fall depending on the situation
-JJ and JL will each play a half of the spring game
-JJ and RS were put on opposing teams so that both defenses would get a look at a mobile quarterback

take your pick, but the LEAST likely thing you can take out of the roster is that Les Miles is trying to indicate that JL has been surpassed by RS in the 4 months the kid has been here.

You all are taking the spring game FAR too seriously and and reading FAR too much into the division of players among the teams.

I mean its not my way, its how lsusports had it, and how do you know that Charles Scott is going to play a little FB in the spring game, i know a few people on here liked him playing Fullback last year

Really? RS to start over JL?

Makes Sense to me, cause JJ and JL are on the first team, while Shepard and Garrett are on the second team. Miles I think is letting RS get most of the snaps cause he, along with all of us, want to see what Shepard is capable of against an SEC caliber(not quite since its spring so we shall call it a full scale Big 12 defense). All I know is I see Russell Shepard having a greatr day running, an okay day passing, and JJ putting on a show as he promised(especially against are second team defense!)
