Saban left Miles 13 commits in '05, while O inherited a string of top 10s, not to mention already being with the staff as DL coach since Jan '15 and served as recruiting CO.
Now tell me about depleted DL he left himself.

On September 25, 2016, after LSU head coach Les Miles was fired following a loss to Auburn, Orgeron was named the team's interim head coach.

On November 26, 2016, LSU removed the "interim" tag from Orgeron's title and formally named him as its 32nd full-time head coach.

The class Les walked into had literally like 14 or 15 kids. I would say thats a major hole Saban left Les

Wow, silly me. I came to this thread expecting to discuss our projected defensive backfield. Instead, it's the SOS.

I'm not for limiting freedom of speech, but there's a thing called etiquette and a reason why it's called "hijacking a thread," which happens in every football thread, and a surprising number of other sports threads.

For the people that hate O, would you kindly start your own threads and politely stick to them? You and the Cheeri-O's can go at it there 24-7. The rest of us that would like to occasionally discuss other things would appreciate it.

Hint: If you're typing a post and you look up, and what you're typing has nothing to do with the thread title, EVEN IF you're responding to someone else, you're probably hijacking the thread.

So we had some attrition just like every other school in the country. What else you got to support your "depleted roster" argument?

Why do you think that was a depleted roster argument? I was just pointing out that some of highly rated classes at the time don't look so great anymore.

Having a class with no 5-stars and then losing 8 4-stars is not a great class.

the last two classes may turn out to be great or they may not. Too early to tell and compare them against classes of the past.

My bad, my post was incorrect. LSU lost 9 of the 4-star players from that class.

Here's the list of 4-star and above players who have left the team.

2013 - ranked 6th:

4-star Jeryl Brazil 7th ranked player in class
4-star Hayden Rettig 8th
4-star John Diarse 10th
4-star Avery Peterson 12th
4-star Anthony Jennings 14th
4-star Melvin Jones 15th
4-star Maquedius Bain 18th
4-star Andy Dodd 19th
4-star Rashard Robinson 20th

2014 - ranked 2nd:

5-star Clifton Garrett 3rd ranked player in class

4-star Brandon Harris 6th
4-star Trey Quinn 7th
4-star Jevonte Domond
4-star Tony Upchurch
4-star Travonte Valentine

2015 - 5th ranked class:

5-star Tyron Johnson 2nd ranked recruit in the class
5-star Maea Teuhema 3rd player in class

4-star Chidi Valentine-Okeke
4-star Xavier Lewis
4-star Jazz Ferguson

In this story, numbers on each recruiting class. One that stings? The 2015 class, where 39% of the signees have already transferred or been dismissed.

From the 2014-2016 classes, only 32 signees (44%) remain on the team right now.

Every team in the country experiences similar attrition. It isn't unique to LSU. Same with injuries. This argument I keep seeing that O had a complete rebuild on his hands is complete BS.
