Dallas area hotels for opening game next season

Looking to book a hotel room for opening game next year and looking for suggestions on where to stay in or around Dallas. We stayed near the stadium for the Oregon game a few years back and just remember there was not much around the stadium for Friday night before the game or after the game. Is that still the case? Thinking we might stay in Dallas maybe, but not sure on best area to get to any good bars etc...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

That’s great and don’t argue with that...but what area to stay in is the question I’m asking not what lodging you prefer.

Just FYI, the game is Sunday. Just in case you didn’t know.

If you have kids you might want to look into hotels or Airbnb near Arlington. With the 6 Flags another amenities for them and I imagine it’s going to be a late game so you can be closer to the stadium.
If you’re single and going with friends or just a SO and want to stay in dallas. Look at getting an airbnb in Lower Greenville, Uptown (more expensive), I wouldn’t suggest downtown because it would be the most expensive option of any, however if you have a family dallas has a great array of museums downtown that are cool with kids.
Deep ellum is the artsy area, full of bars and great places to eat that right outside downtown but I wouldn’t suspect you find many places to stay around there.
Lower greenville is where LSUs bar is, Dodies and will have a plethora of small cheap houses via Airbnb. Bars and restaurants all within walking distance.
Uptown is the college scene, if you’re 18-25 you’ll enjoy it a lot.
Let me know if you want more specifics on areas.

Stay downtown enjoy the city you’ll be driving to game anyway. Arlington has nothing for most folks
Edit. Uptown area is what I was referring to.

Mckinney Ave in Uptown Dallas was swarming with LSU folk the weekend if the Oregon game. It's usually a younger, usually douchier crowd, but the LSU fan will overtake the area. Lowest Greenville will be more chill but still a lot of fun. I would avoid Downtown altogether, and definitely avoid the West End unless you want to get shot at.
My rec would be an Airbnb near Lower or Lowest Gville. From there, check out the LG bar scene, head to Deep Ellum, or find the big crowd in Uptown.

I live near lower greenville (Lakewood neighborhood) and it is very central to everything. Uber to deep ellum, uptown for $5 if you want to go there. LG does have a lot of pubs and restaurants.....there are really 3 distinct areas of lower grenville with clusters of bars and restaurants that are a long walk from each other. Then you have henderson avenue another long walk away that has a bunch of stuff. Lowest Greenville has a city ordinance that requires most bars to close at midnight. There are 3 or 4 bars/pubs that can stay open til 2am. Further up greenville doesn't have that restriction.
