I’m so glad I was able to be a part of college football from the 80s to about 2010.

My first year of following college football was 1995 bring back the magic season. I was a kid but got to sit in the student section, Kevin Faulk and Eddie Kennison were my favorite players, and that is when I fell in love with LSU football. I never thought I would see LSU win a national championship in football in my lifetime but I saw them do it three times. I also saw the best college football team and the last real national championship in 2019 before covid and all this NIL transfer portal stuff.

We have so little to pull from here in Louisiana compared to larger markets. We have even less when you consider that not everyone is a big LSU fan.
We really need good coordination to gather as much as we can to give kids a plug and play environment.
As bad as our market is, at least it’s not like the state of alabama or Mississippi where they have very little money and they have to spot the market with 2 teams.

There are very few universities with athletic departments that actually make money. The argument that players need to be paid because the universities are making money off of them is nonsense.
For years, these players got free tuition, free dorms, the best food, free tutoring, and the chance to make lots of money when they graduated.
Even if they weren't good enough to enter a pro league, they often used their university connections to land job interviews and land employment in other fields.
Now we have 18-year-olds being promised hundreds of thousands of dollars (millions) just to attend a university.

Culotta is a nerd and is hardly ever right about anything

The best thing LSU fans can do is to support NIL crowdfunding sites like The Player Option where we can generate thousands of small dollar donations instead of relying on a few large dollar donations.
We will get killed if we have to have our boosters go toe to toe with colleges like A&M
