I am no Leavitt fan, but his explosives in the ground game, would be 11 yard losses if Landen Clark was in there, given the below-average OL play. Clark certainly is mobile, but he is not the dynamic weapon that Leavitt is, strictly as a runner.
While I believe Clark could've made that routine TD throw to a wide-open TE in the endzone, it was Leavitt's explosive chain-moving plays, in the first place, that got LSU in those positions to not only tie-up the game, but also get into game-winning territory. LSU would have a mediocre running game without Leavitt's hair-on-fire manic runs.

You are so brilliant. How can Lane and Wiess not see how brilliant you are. If only you, with all your time at the practices and countless hours in the film room, had been listened to we would have beaten OM. Maybe they will wake up and finally see your brilliance and save this season.

FWIW I am a Landen Clark fan but not a coach who has seen him at practice and in the film room. Kiffin and Wiess built a great team at OM and developed 3 QB into NFL caliber signal callers. Kiffin will do the right thing.

Nah you still getting crucified . If he was ready lane would have played him. You don’t start a New qb in his first start in the sec on the road .

I will expose, quite simply, the obvious error/flaw being made by so many. And I will do it with a prime example so dear to their hearts.
There was a very good coaching staff, at a consistently highly rated Ohio State University who was also sure they were starting, playing their Best QB. So the 2nd, maybe 3rd string QB decided to transfer.
His name was Joe Burrow.
That was easy, for after all, we're not dealing with brilliance here.
Stick around for another "slam dunk example" which will further expose the narrow minded, short-sided, simpleton mindset that pervades above. An even more precise, exact & super fresh example that will further prove the validity of the suggested trial, test.
I realize that 85% are already lost, confused. But there are many who agree, see! Stay tuned for the slam dunk......

About this same time last year, there was a 2nd string QB playing for a Coach you know/love well.
Like Landon Clark, the 2nd String QB had not really played or ever started on a Team that you also know very well.
His name is Trinidad Chambliss & the Coach was/is Lane Kiffin.
SMOKE, FIRE, TORCH......run, quick, get the Water Hose and put these Rantards out!!

FWIW, I think there are multiple reasons why Clark won't start or contribute and I'm not sure any of them have to do with his skill set.

The huge, main point that almost everyone fails to grasp is that it was NEVER suggested, recommended to Entirely Replace, Permanently Bench, Totally Switch from Leavitt to Clark!! But THAT was somehow the Gut Reaction & Take Away that was Felt and Expressed.
The entire premise, argument and suggestion was "why not give, and yes even "start", Landon Clark "BRIEFLY" to find out his Upside/Downside potential! ... (and I must stop here briefly to clarify, again, for the umpteenth time, how/why the word "start" was used/intended.....for I already know how people will FREAK OUT over that word and be utterly incapable of reading, comprehending anything further regarding the reasoning, logic or THE MAIN POINT of this and other threads)
The main premise/point was always to run a "trial/test" ( a series or 2 during prime game time with the first string) to simply see/find out how good Landon Clark might actually be..... (but again, for some ? guttural, sheer panic & fear based ? reason....people suddenly Freak the Frick Out and immediately react with insane comments that have nothing to do with the main point of what was said, suggested)!
Landon Clark has played basically perfect. Leavitt has not. No one suggested to fire, ditch, "move on" from Leavitt. And NO ONE knows, not even the coaches, how Landon might actually perform Under Pressure. It is well documented that "certain" players perform far better, even outstanding under pressure!
Why not find out, especially since we know, have seen that Leavitt does NOT always perform his best under pressure. And yes, we are talking about Winning/Loosing Games here, which is why this experiment should be run!
There is almost NO RISK & POSSIBLE HUGE REWARDS!
But again, I am under NO delusion that 85% of Rantards were able to even read, process or comprehend the main point or logic suggested here - again! They just can't do it.
But there are still many that do "see & agree" with the logic here.
For there have been several dozens of similar threads, and countless posts discussing/expressing this same "option, suggestion, trial" of giving Landon Clark relevant/prime game playing time, if for only "briefly".
