his offense has this. people are mad at j.j. for throwing a 4 yard pass on 3rd and 5. well, he has four guy's in the route and chooses the short one. second, when you don't have a full back, you need your rb to block or run the middle screen, which they do. if you go empty, the other team will blitz more than you can block. neither qb is capable of making the proper read/decision to get the ball out quickly. both get sacked. the fact you guy's can't tell the offense has a deep, middle, and safety route tells me you are complaining about something you don't know anything about. want to see good execution, a word you guy's haven't mentioned, see florida and how lee executed the plays called. 400 yards of offense. however, jefferson didn't execute the same plays. check out bama, jefferson executed the plays called. made good reads and threw accurately. lit up what winded up being the top d in the s.e.c. so, ask yourself this. how is it that this offense had their best days against the two best defenses they faced? if crowton is so dumb and doesn't know what to do, how the hell did that happen? it's very simple, the players executed the plays that were called. he didn't stop calling the plays. the players stopped executing the play. and i mean, o-line blocking, wr catching, qb making the proper read and delivering an accurate pass timely.
I'm glad there aren't more posters on here like you Dos Crystal. If everyone one on here was a rational poster like you what fun would it be? I like having posters like A Moss and Doc because they supply the comic relief and are worthy foils.
Keep fighting the good fight dude, it allows me to rest my typing fingers!

I've made two or three different posts over last year or so about execution being the major problem.
People see what they want to see.

Inexplicable to say the least.

Jefferson got worse as a QB and Crowton is the OC and QB coach
You realize most of the QBs Crowton coached got better after he left...
I know, his system is too complex for mere mortals.

Ole Miss's defense is not good.
Alabama is solid, but vulnerable.
The bottom line is that in those two games (and a decent part of the first half against Arkansas) we used our WRs/TE in the middle of the field and forced the secondary to cover the entire field instead of just the outside.
Why did we switch back? God only knows.
BT loves to think that all our offensive problems are the result of poor execution by one player, but that's because he wholly ignores the problems that have consistently plagued Gary Crowton's offense for the better part of a decade. And, when Lee experiences the same problems as Jefferson, he excuses it has "not having enough reps."
Notice that not once in the past year has attempted to explain why two eventual NFL QBs suffered horribly under Crowton.
It's simple logic:
If A plays poorly under X
And B plays poorly under X
And C plays poorly under X
And D plays poorly under X
Yet, A and B play to a near elite level under Y.
The constant variable associated with poor play isn't C or D, it's X.
A lot of people believe that Crowton's biggest problem is development. I disagree. While I don't think he's worth a shite as a QB coach, his biggest problem is that he stubbornly runs an offense that doesn't work and doesn't support the QB.
The answer is obvious and has been obvious for a long time.

Oregon is a beautiful state, full of pollyana and dope smoking. He probably can't recall that night.

He never stated that Jefferson would win the Heisman, he's only opinion, like mine, was that Jefferson was better than Lee (especially in this offense.)
I wholeheartedly still agree with that.
Although, I've consistently maintained that Lee could be a successful QB under a different offense.

1)I stated florida and bama.
2) bama was the winded up as the top defense in the s.e.c.
3) Crowton has coached seven quarterbacks who have gone on to be selected in the NFL Draft.
4) my post isn't about g.c. being the best o.c., it's about your inaccurate statements and failure to provide factual information to meet your spin/bashing agenda. just tell the dang truth. you can have a different opinion, just provide the truth.

In Jimbo Fisher's 7 years at LSU alone, he put 6 QBs in the NFL. (Booty, Davey, Mauck, Randall, Russell, Flynn)

His point was that QBs who perform poorly under Crowton end up making a miracle turnaround after Crowton leaves. Dennis Dixon went from being a below average QB under Crowton, and after Crowton left, he was a heisman contender and an NFL draft pick. I seriously doubt Dixon would have been a heisman contender had Crowton stayed at Oregon.

The facts do not lie... go back to see Crowton's 10 year track record...page #2.. every year after year, where ever he coached, his record gets worst. LSU is winning in spite of Crowton... ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IF FOR CROWTON TO GO.
..........Please Santa.........

This is so fricking misleading and you know it.
Three of them were 5th year seniors when Crowton got there: Brandon Domain (BYU), Kellen Clemens (Oregon), and Matt Flynn (LSU)
Two had the worst statistical years of their college careers under Crowton: John Beck (BYU) and Dennis Dixon (Oregon)
He was the QB coach at Boston College when Glenn Foley went to the League in 1993.
And, of course, Rattay.
His two good coaching jobs were Foley and Rattay which took place 18 and 13 years years ago respectfully.

Perhaps because those plays were spent, and the recall of the pass on the opening drive against Auburn came to mind, which is much more typical of the result when he tried to throw to the middle of the field. The plays to the TE were WIDE OPEN and surprised the defense.

Good strategy.
Let's stop doing something that has worked for the last 10 quarters and revert back to something that hasn't worked all year.
Do you guys even read through what you post on this site?

yes, Jimbo did a great job developing Randall to walk-on at safety...
