Hoping someone can answer them for me.

1. Will we get Javen Coleman back this year? If so, has he played any fall ball?

2. Will Dugas get a shot at 2nd base? Who do y’all think is the leader in the clubhouse for that position?

Thanks

Coleman can return midseason at best. Considering the pitching depth, it's likely that he will take a medical redshirt rather than press to come back this year.

Dugas definitely has a shot at 2B, along with the loser of the SS competition between Guidry and Thompson. Merrifield had a really strong Fall and Nippolt is solid.

Coleman not coming back mid season
He’s out for year

Dugas can play second of and dh but best bet to see field is 2b as OF will likely be Pearson crews and kling and dh will be Skenes and jones and maybe beloso jobert as left handed option

So a freshmen, kling, is more likely to start over a senior, dugas? Im not saying it wont happen, but i dont think its as likely as yall do

It is very likely. That is why Dugas spent most of his time in the fall at 2B. If Dugas plays the OF that means someone didn’t pan out as expected. Good to have the option knowing Dugas is capable in LF if needed.

One thing with this team is the options are endless. Many players can play multiple positions and that will be nice going through the pre SEC schedule to see the best options going into SEC play.

Dugas will get a shot but will have to hit & put together better ABs. You can tell Johnson is not a huge fan. So he will have to earn it.

Merrfield, Guidry & Nippolt can all play 2B too.

I’m wondering what CJJ will do with Ruddell. Considering the pitchers he was facing, his fall stats are pretty impressive.

Ruddell had a surprising fall but until I see him do it against sec pitching he’s gonna have to wait his turn
Go look at the lineup for both scrimmages and that will show you where the pecking order is
Pearson had a terrible fall at plate but look at his track record during sec play last year
