No it was necessary for him to continue to grow as a play caller. BK decided it was in his best interests to go develop those skills in the sec so he could come back a couple of years later for 10 times the money.

This is such dumb bullshite. We are literally wishing we could rehire a guy we paid to leave 2 years ago but he “had to go” then and is wonderful now.

Baker is the same guy now he was then. LSU just enjoys burning money.

If Kelly had hired him 2 years ago just a year off of his stint at Miami, this board would have fricking melted down. 2 years of him proving he can cut it in the SEC changes all of that.

If Kelly was in the mood to take a risk like that, he could just make Bo Davis our DC and cross his fingers and hope he knows how to call and run a defense. Kelly isn’t going to do that. Other than O, no head coach at LSU is likely to reach like that.
