We all know the 2023 defense was way below LSU standards, but they did end the season with a bang.

They ended the season with three consecutive sacks. I am fairly certain this is the longest current streak in CFB. I was wondering what the NCAA record was for consecutive defensive plays with a sack. I could not find that stat listed.

We currently have three and counting. Maybe that is the record. I don't know.

The defense did not play well, but they ended on an awesome high note.

You're probably going to have to try to contact ESPN stats and info or the Elias sports bureau for that type of info.

Would that mean the streak is 4 sacks?

What’s funny is that most people here forget that the 2003 LSU team blitzed on 97% of their snaps. They had multiple sacks in a row, but I couldn’t tell you when.

Do you have a source for that?

27 in a row would be 9 offensive series which would be incredible.

Georgia Tech vs Cumberland, and yes it was one of a few incredible happenings that crisp Fall afternoon.

Interesting
Georgia Tech 222 Cumberland 0

I looked up that game and Cumberland had 27 rushes for -42 yards but they also attempted 18 passes.

Looking at the pbp, they did not have 27 consecutive sacks though.
