If your school is recruiting top ten classes on a regular basis you should have very few complaints about recruiting. arguing over a space or two doesn't make sense. Especially knowing what we know about the services it just doesn't make sense.
One could say the same about many debates you get into, Ben. If I don't see merit in the debate, I just find something else to read
I agree. I've gone balls to the wall over trivial things here plenty of times. I've tried to moderate myself somewhat lately. I'm not going to allow myself to dig into this one too much other than to say that I've seen too much screwy stuff with recruiting services to not take your word for it that the numbers don't add up. You would think that other LSU fans would either take you at your word, or check for themselves not argue you up and down over a few spots. It's the environment here now and a few so-called fans that can't stand positive discussion of the football team.

Derek, you still dodged my question-so are we supposed to be excited about rankings again? A class ranked somewhere in the Top 5 or 10 (we can all agree) based on signing elite skill players and sadly lacking on both lines, especially DL, but isn’t this what you and your interns were deriding Les for just last year? When you told us recruiting rankings didn’t matter as long as positions of need were filled? Now we like them, even though our most deficient areas were almost a complete whiff? And now, after Rivals being deemed a complete joke/Bama owner and operated, they’ve become genius because you like where we landed?
Just trying to keep track.

Maybe if you acted like you had some sense and quit calling him Derek he would respond in a respectable manner.

24/7 suddenly ranking Penn State at #3 is proof of how erratic that site has become. Particularly since 24/7 just did a feature article a on the B1G in which it ranked Michigan above Penn State.
It’s not sudden. 24/7 just ranks players differently. You didn’t know they had their own rankings so you don’t know they are erratic.
And the article uses the composite scores, which again are different.
And I say All this because Rivals has your boy as a low 3*

The 24/7 Phony Composite uses ESPN's rankings that completely leave out LSU's Feb 6 signings.
This is the elephant in the room for 24/7's Phony Composite.

How did Ohio State do in recruiting? Why are you constantly shite posting on an LSU board?

Want to explain how my claiming that LSU deserves a #3 ranking is "shite posting"? Are you an LSU fan or a 24/7 fan?

A few things.
1. Penn State is #3 in the 24/7 site rankings, NOT the composite. ESPN has nothing to do with that.
2. The composite is based on composite PLAYER rankings. Which are complete. It isn’t based averaging team rankings.
24/7 gives us full credit for each player we signed’s composite rating.
For instance Devonta Smith is a .9312 composite player and 92 24/7 player
He’s in our #5 COMPOSITE class. His composite rating includes his ESPN player rating.
Even if ESPN isn’t updating their class rank we get points in the composite team rating for Lee.
That’s why people like the composite rating, because it smoothed over rating when sites are radically different. And all sites have players that they like or dislike.

Most people are getting on him because Rivals was “shite” on here until we ranked higher on Rivals
I get Wanting to go with whatever favors LSU.
But if I had to pick 1 site I’d still pick 24/7. They’ve been better consistently over the years. And we’re still better in the 24/7 rankings and in the same spot in the SEC.

What specifically has he said that you think I disagree with?
I just find OP's situation odd. It's strange that one could be a fan of one team and then become a fan of another and spend every waking hour posting on that other team's message board just because a player transferred there. To each his own, obviously. It's just odd.

Their team rankings NOT their player rankings.
The Team Composite Rankings are based on the Player Composite Rankings which are based on the various Site player rankings.
So Lee and Ward’s Composite rankings include Rivals, 24/7 and ESPN player rankings.
And we get credit in the Composite Team Rankings for the player rankings.
The Composite Team eankings are NOT just an average of the Rivals, ESPN and 24/7 class rankings.

I thought we all decided this time last year that recruiting rankings don't matter We appear to have signed a great class, on paper at least. Who cares if we're ranked 3rd, 4th, 5th or even 10th by any given publication or composite ranking? We filled major needs at RB and OL. Signed a potentially great DL in Ika. I'm happy no matter what some arbitrary ranking system says

I mean Amongst the site.
I dont Like bouncing back and forth between sites to just pick the one that rates us highest each year.
Which is why I like the composite. Based on all the sites.
