Bisonduck, you're a good poster and good luck to your team the rest of the season. I am sorry that you talked yourself into believing that your line gaining weight was what you needed to compete. Most of us thought that would make no difference, that is was much more about athleticism, and we were proven correct.

do you still agree with this?
quote:
RB: Barner has more experience than Ware and Ford combined. He has nearly 1,200 yards rushing receiving with around 900 of those on the ground. Ford and Ware combined barely match Huff's total on the ground last season, our true frosh RB/WR. Throw in Lache Seastrunk at third string and De'Anthony Thomas and I don't even thing you can talk about LSU being better. I am not even including Tra Carson.
quote:
DL: I am not going to even go there. LSU fans will have to believe it when they see it. Sorry, but you're pinning your hopes here on a DE that is recovering from an ACL and a true frosh. Adams is the stalwart and nothing leads me to believe that he is stronger than his counterpart Turner. Our interior with Heimuli, Hart and Keliikipi should be considered more experienced, imho. Our other end Jordan is fabulous.

You had 119 of offense in the 4th quarter after we called the Safeties back and went into base D. You got bitchslapped.
Competed for a half. Faded like you expected us to.
Glad you came back, but this is what you deserved. That pride's still proving to be quite a bitter pill for you to choke down.
Seriously, dude, duck fans don't go into meltdown like Tiger fans. We lost. Oregon suffered from a lot of self inflicted wounds. Our coach has been saying from day one that youth on this team jumps out at you. We played a lot of kids in their first collegiate game ever. I hated losing but I am actually a proud duck fan. So, yes, if I have pride...so be it.

I'm pretty sure you did, but I'm not going to search just to prove what I already know. You also said your secondary is so good that you won't miss Cliff Harris.
And while your secondary didn't play bad... Harris might have helped against the 2 TDs your sophomore DB gave up... not to mention return game.
No, I never said that. I said our secondary was talented and deep...period. Btw, Mitchell was a redshirt frosh playing his first game ever. I think our db gave up one td and last I checked they do that from to time.
However, I will still maintain that Kiko was a much bigger loss. He would have been a much bigger help.

Gracious to a guy that was wrong on about 80% of the things he said?
uhh yeah

Btw, I said we would lose.
If you guys think that going for under 300 yards of offense is some kind of explosion...than yeah, I was totally wrong.

Pride in your school is what caused you to come here and crow. Commendable.
But pride is now refusing to admit the truth that you got owned by a far superior opponent.
We were physically dominant & controlled both lines of scrimmage. We were better conditioned, and we were FASTER.
Repeat that after me, punk. Our S&C Coach & our DC were not lying in speaking about the speed of our Defense.
You, however, were vastly over-rating the capability of your running back corp & your offensive line, as well as your Secondary. Please don't tell me the half dozen drops our WR's had were in any way due to the defense making their hands retain the same elasticity of bricks.
Dropped balls are not "passes defended" or PBU's. Check the stats.
We hung 40 points on your arse, and 33 of them were not on Special Teams. You scored 3 points off our TO. We scored 21 off your 4. We were far more efficient.
Where we had players drop out due to suspension, etc., we had players step up.
When you had players drop out or needed ones to step up, you have excuses to console you.
There's pride in your school, and then there's pride enough to admit your team got beaten by a superior opponent in ALL FOUR phases, COACHING, included!

has anyone posted the gems from LE's thread?
Yes, LSU can win but it would be a low scoring affair. No one here wants to talk about it but there is a chance that Oregon gets the offensive machine chugging. You better be able to throw if that happens.
quote:
However, LMJ is a doak walker award winner, Barner is just a step behind in talent, Huff had as much or more production than Ware and Ford, and Seastrunk and De'Anthony are off the charts prodigious talents. Carson is our 227 6'0" power back is getting some buzz just like Magee.
For as stacked as you guys think you are, there is a reason we're #3 in the polls.

You won't believe me that this is closer than you'd like to believe.
DB: We're absolutely stacked there as well but whatever.

Oregon has the best RB talent in the country sans no one.

However, I in no way think that you will hold us to 2.2 yards per attempt.
quote:
I know what you have. Your interior is not as good as Auburn's last year. Clayton, Blanc and Fairly were all 300+ and seniors at DT. They also had seniors Goggans and Carter at end along with the high regarded new recruits like Eguae at DE that were 260 pounds +. They were better against the run.
quote:
You think your interior run defense in the first game of the season will be better than last year's replacing Nevis, Pep, and Sheppard? I, mean, seriously you think that? I guess it's possible but is it realistic?

Wasn't so much that. Btw, i gave you a gracious %20 there.
We started in Oregon territory like 6 out of 8 times in the 2nd half. How exactly you rack up yardage with a short field, I do not know. We didn't need an offensive explosion, especially once we took a lead. We pretty much asserted our will offensively on the ground at that point, which to me is much more embarrassing than had we racked up high yardage total.
But what I am mainly talking about is the complete disrespect you had for our RB's compared to your own. The fact that you basically shite on our DL(see quote above) and claimed that your defensive backs were just as good, if not better that ours.

You do realize that it was reported that Randle tweaked a knee in warm-ups? He still went. He sucked it up.
You do realize we started an 18 year old for Russell Shepard, right? Yet we aren't making excuses for his drops, are we?
Yet you're explaining your poor performance away with them.
One team was able to overcome far more distractions, and a huge setback to their offensive plan, nevermind huge upheaval on its offensive staff.
Oregon is a drowning man.
LSU is the sea.
This is your reality.

Glad to see you back too bison. I'm pretty sure I told you that you wouldn't be the by far the fastest team we faced and you weren't even the fastest team on that field. I warned that we would run on you like Gerhart did. You dismissed me and said that was due to Andrew Luck. We got about 200 rushing and our de was faster than your heisman contending rb. All that had nothing to do with penalties. That being said good luck on the rest of your season. I truly feel your team will cash the check your mouth wrote against the rest of that sked.

The game was high scoring than anticipated. There was a chance that we get it chugging - I said a chance nothing definitive here.

Again, LMJ, Barner and Thomas are good rbs.

Yes. I like our rb depth. Still do.

I liked our defense's performacne. They did give up 2 touchdowns after turnovers near or in the redzone. However, they were put in bad spots by the offense and special teams. LSU had 45 carries and less than two hundred yards of rushing and the passing stats were even worse. I fully blame the loss of special temas.
DB: We're absolutely stacked there as well but whatever.
10-22 98 yards passing.

They still had a young offensive line.

You didn't hold us to 2.2 yards.

Again, I don't see where this is wrong.
