It's also irrelevant, at least as far as I'm concerned. However you slice it, it's an assumption that OSU would lose to either LSU or BAMA. I tend to agree, but I acknowledge that it's just an assumption.

You know what's not an assumption? The winner of the LSU-BAMA game. We saw that show, and LSU already won it.

I agree the second best team is BAMA...but the next best team which hasn't ALREADY LOST to LSU ought to get a shot before BAMA gets round two...at least I think.

You, sir, are absolutely correct. People still miss the point and talk about who they believe to be the two "best" teams.

The fact that the two top teams in the SEC are great is blinding ESPN

It's all LSU's fault. They beat 2 AQ conference champions. A third would just embarass college football

Yea, because Ok St losing on the road to Iowa St is better than Alabama's loss at home

What are you talking about? I'm not crazy about this rematch stuff, but I don't think it can be claimed OSU's loss is better because their loss was on the road ( to poor team) versus Bama losing at home (to #1 team, in OT) Would we argue that if we were in Bama's spot right now?

Out of curiosity, what happens if we lose to Georgia?

Seriously- our body of work likely gets US in, but how might that affect Bama? Remember, the only thing that they have in comparison to other teams is they played us to OT, and nobody else got within 13. Are we that joined at the hip that our loss would drop them too?

Maybe this is so and the rules should be changed in the convoluted calculations that are being applied now. The thing that I don't like about the rematch is that if the loser of the 2nd game had won the first game there should have to be a 3rd game. But that is not the system we have in place for this season.

Well, they could decide to send just LSU or just Alabama. In which case LSU would likely get the nod. If not, all hell breaks out and we occupy the Super Dome. If LSU were to lose, I can't see two non-champions from the same conference making the championship game. Could get real interesting and get decided by some goofy poll.

There are 2 items the media should be talking about:

1- Except for 4 teams, Big12 is a stronger conference than SEC this year.

2- Even if they believe LSU and Alabama are are top two teams in the country, They already played, so LSU should be given the national title; what is the point in rematch. It is only logical to allow #3 to have their chances against LSU.

OU lost to Texas Tech and Baylor. OSU at home is not losing to OU this year.
