Griner essentially said mulkey told her she can be whoever she wants. But it’s best not to air out your business and she should just concentrate on playing ball. Griner also mentioned the coaches fearing that if there was an openly gay player on the team that parents wouldn’t want to send their daughters to play for them.
Baylor is a Baptist school where, at least 20 years ago, every student had to take choir and one other baptist religion class. Having your biggest athletic star, at the time, come out as openly gay was not looked upon favorably by Baylor. People hate context.

Empowering? She's a grown a** woman, bigger than a man,. Why does she need some old white ladies validation?

Empowering is by and large a made up word used to justify the need for equity for those that have made poor life decisions and have grown up in an environment riddled with low accountability and safe spaces.
Educate? Train? Sure. Empower? Political drivel.

That's dumb. All of our words were "made up" at one time or another.
Besides, the verb "empower" came into the English language in the mid 1600s.

Women's Basketball Coaches worried about openly gay players on a team? That's rich!
How did the Women's Softball Coach feel?

The politicization of the word in its current context neuters any semblance from its original meaning. It's become a cliche, and like cliches, it bears no substance to anyone.

What is this guys issue with LSU? Seems kind of weird for a UConn beat writer to have a axe to grind with LSU

What was its original meaning?

That's my point. It doesn't matter given that it doesn't mean anything within its current political context.

His Iowa Tweet may have more to do with the UConn Coach having words with Dawn Staley, but you know the Rant if there is any reason to get butt hurt...
