It’s funny to watch the two liars lick each other’s wounds and comfort each other. Why would you take out punt returns in regulation? Oh yeah, to try and balance out the complete outlier of a seven OT scoring opportunity.
If you remove that unquestionable outlier, the 2018 offense had the least amount of total TDs dating back to 2013 and the second to last amount of total TDs in SEC play during the same period. Even if you don't remove the outlier, 2013 and 2015 both had more total TDs and 2013, 2016 and 2015 all had more SEC TDs.
Going back to 2011, the offensive S&P+ rankings are as follows:
2018- 30
2017- 23
2016- 41
2015- 12
2014- 34
2013- 7
2012- 32
2011- 18
Trying to make the 2018 offense into something it clearly wasn't is a fool's errand.

It’s pretty simple the 2017 LSU offense scored 1 more TD than the 2018 offense period end of story. First cut will kick and scream but he always does when facts are posted.
