Hit and run isnt a bad call right there. If Rhymes pokes it threw the hole its first and third and people say PM is a genius.

he took a shot, letting the SEC's leader in GIDP swing with a 2-0 count after turning to bunt, with a runner on first, and no outs. That scenarios screams Raph hitting into a dp...even with a "hit and run" on

Runners on first and second would have gone a long way in assuring that end as well.

Runner at first or second with one out and score tied, with the momentum...I'm feeling pretty good about it.

If nothing else, it's another inning. We didn't get that.

Do you know what the hitter's job is on a hit and run?

Did you see where the ball was pitched?

Did you see where the ball was hit?

It's a matter of lack of execution.

Base hit by Raph and we're celebrating a win. Baseball just is that way.

I honestly thought Jacoby was going to win that game. oh well. We can fight out of the losers bracket. We did it in the SEC tourney.

Not to mention the "gamble" in a double elimination format. Coaches in football may gamble on an on-side kick during the Superbowl when its winner take all and its the same thing, works you are a genius, doesn't you are a dunce. Least we get to play another day

A hit and run never "screams" double play. We get it. Apparently Raph fricked your gf and you have it out for him because every single one of your posts has been bashing the dude for hitting into a DP. There was nothing wrong with hitting and running on a 2-0 count in that spot. It didn't work out. shite happens in baseball.

Im sure it has been said, but why is Katz still running the bases there? He pinch ran for Ibarra, why not pinch a runner for Katz. He is one of the slower people on the team, and it was the ninth inning; that's when you pull out all the stops. a half second could have come in handy on that throw to second, just saying

He was supposed to hit behind the runner. He pulled a pitch that was maybe outside and hit it to the left side instead...like he did in 2 other AB's. Bad execution by a guy who is more than prone to doing that exact thing, hitting ground balls to the left side.

its nothing against raph, just this year he has had a LOT of groundball outs. Especially ones with runners on

And you cant assume Moore is getting a hit if there's runners at second and first with 1 out. Hes not going to be pitched the same way and the double play is still in play. Way to easy to look back on it. Not really trying to be an apologist but I think its baseball breaks as opposed to bad managing.

Get the frick off of that. No matter what a hitter's tendencies are, you are coached to hit behind in that situation. And the ball was outside, almost a ball. Hit it the other way, the way you are coached to do. There's no excuse for pulling it. He didnt execute.

The whole thing was convoluted. Slow runners, pulled the ball instead of hitting behind, etc.
Maybe they will have a chip on their shoulder tomorrow.
