What about the one that had her skull crushed?
What about her? If the metal bats used in college softball had not been used, would she not have been injured?

You have provide ZERO evidence that any injury would have been prevented.

Now please stop hijacking this thread. This thread is about the new bats required for college baseball and has nothing to do with softball.

Start your own thread on softball safety if you wish.

It isn't false. The trampoline effect of the current bats is at a COMPLETELY different level than any bats before. Have you ever played baseball past 6 years old?

It's already been mentioned in this thread, but you cannot assume the injuries would have been prevented by these new bats. A line drive is a line drive. It may come off the bat slightly slower but it does not guarantee the player will react to it correctly to save injury.

Did YOU know that between 1991 and 2001 there were 17 players killed by batted balls?

Well thats good for nothing considering the bats changed in 1999

Why do you keep referring to the safety of college players and then you post quotes referring to high school?

Cause you kept responding.
Ok, I'll stop doing that.

Limit your frivolous posts to college baseball and the new dead bats.

How many college baseball games did you attend last year?

would you care to guess how many pitchers pitched during the ncaa tourney? i'll give you a hint, it's more than 2
So if only two people get hit/killed by a drunk driver this month we can start drinking and driving?

Can you and the other guy tell me you honestly think aluminum bats are as safe as wooden?

The fact that there's crying about lack of home runs kinda answers that doesn't it. To get more distance you need more pop. They'll boil legal ones or load 'em and still find ways I'm sure.

It may change the game but I would rather that than seeing a kid go through that

And there is no doubt a wood bat or a deadened metal bat would have had a different result in your player's case?

Every research I read about that issue says no one knows.

Great, now we have to play small ball like the Cali teams. That sucks.

You think the bulk of those drunk bastards understand pop on a bat? Hell, a lot of coaches don't.

The NCAA started regulated the power of college metal bats over a decade ago. The are not "hotter than ever." That is why you don't see a team hitting 140 home runs in a season like we used to see.

There was nothing in that article which said any injury would have been prevented. Try again.
