I'm grateful for what CLM has done at LSU...nobody appreciates 2007 NC more than me....and CLM has won some awesome games for us along the way with his gambling style.

2007 was a whole lot of luck. If W VA doesn't get upset by Pittsburgh and Missouri doesn't lose to Oklahoma, then LSU doesn't play for the NC. We should have never even been in the position to have to luck into the NC game. We lost to Kentucky and Arkansas and both games ended in triple overtime. Charles Scott has nearly 100 yards rushing in the first half against Kentucky but doesn't touch the ball again until the final overtime? What kind of stupid bullshite is that?

But to throw some facts into this, LSU had very few scholarship available that season, without "processing" many players that were previously given scholarships.

I bring this up whenever ppl say how small that class is, and some folks swear I'm crazy. but I kinda remember the Advocate site even having an article saying that that was somewhat a silver lining to Saban leaving that yr as opposed to others.

the 2005 signing class was probably one of our best. Also, we had a lot of senior talent in 2007 because of that.

You're preaching to the choir my man....I agree.
Oklahoma St. azz raped too in 2011 by losing to a pathetic Iowa St. team and letting Little Nicky back into the big dance. That shite happens tho.

The correct answer is, they would say that LSU should've won 4 championships since CLM has been here. So no they wouldn't suddenly approve of him.

It's easy to be the champ when you're always fighting a strawman.

1/9 proved the haters right.

Ask #1 OSU how lucky they were to face us.

07 gave us something 03 couldn't.....an undisputed national title.

Guess some thought we were more good than lucky, huh.

I don't even know what this means. 2007 lost to 2 unranked teams and only got in because of outside parties completely blowing it and the mercy of the voters.

But hey, I guess 2007 > 2003 because of Lesean McCoy

No. You are not paying him anything.
His salary/income should not be a point of anyone's concern.
Is his performance OK, if he earned 3 mil?
Would 7 wins be OK, if the coach made 2 mil?
Nope. I'd like LSU to win a lot (all) of games.
When you comment about results as a return for his income/salary, you peg certain number of wins based on salary. You are jealous of his salary. He negotiated with his employer. That's between him and his employer.

Think about all the coaches that never got a 2nd NC. Stoops at OU, Corker at Miami, Holtz at ND, Brown at UTx, Fulmer at Tenn, Spurrier at UF ...

The 2nd is no guarantee and doesn't make you any worse of a coach, because you don't get one. The thing going on at Bama is truly unbelievable, but when you realize what resources they put into the program and the fact that it's the only show in state essentially. Hell the Assistant Coaches have assistant coaches!! That is all the GUMPS have ...

I guess we shouldn't use the term WE when referring to LSU

bullshite, especially with the continuous extra fees associated with LSU football

He's getting paid elite money, so elite production should be expected of him. If he was making $2 million a year, we should expect $2 million/year results

Nope. I'd like LSU to win a lot (all) of games.

which is why we pay top money for our coaches

you compare him to his peers

quote:

He negotiated with his employer. That's between him and his employer.

He flirted with Arkansas to get an extension. I have a problem with that

and the product suffers when you pay your CEO doesn't call a timeout, benches the best player on the team, and refuses to switch QB's in one of the biggest games in LSU history despite 90 yards of offense

So other than Saban, who has honestly been a better coach in Miles' tenure?

I think Les is an elite coach/recruiter who relies on his elite coordinators.

He just needs to give up his timeout rights

During his tenure, I would put Saban, Chip Kelly (nfl now), Pete Carroll, and maybe Franklin ahead of him. I think Gene Chizik and Jimbo Fischer will be elite coaches eventually too

I just wish Les was an elite offensive or defensive mind, but I can live with him making quality hires

OK! who are his peers?

If being butt-hurt/jealous at Saban's success at Bama is your comparison to peers, you are going to be pretty unhappy.

Closest to Miles is Urban Meyer, who malingered to take another job.

Don't be unhappy with your son, because your neighbor's son has a good looking girlfriend.
