Do your priority points carry over from year to year? For example, I read in another thread that an individual had about 12 points and was ranked about 6700, which means he most likely won't be able to get tickets this year. But if he donates X amount and gets a few more points, say to 15, will that be the number he goes into next year's ticket line with, hence being ranked higher? Im still a college student so Im thinking about starting now to build up some points so I dont have to wait 10 years after I graduate for tickets.

Thank you

it does carry over but there's a cut-off date. it may or may not have passed yet.

So would it be smart to sign up and do the $100 donation a year to get 3 points. By doing that I assume it would only take a year or 2 out of college to be able to qualify for tickets.

Thats some funny shite right there. More like a decade or two with only donating $100 a year.

Correct me if im wrong, but I read on the website that $100 a year gets 3 TAF points. 4 years of college + 2 years after = 6 years. 6 X 3 = 18 points? Am I doing it wrong?

Not a chance. I am in the lower 3000's and can't get extraa tickets. Been a member since '02. Football, Baseball and Basketball season tickets. Member of the Coaches Committee and Gridiron Club and I make a small additional donation each year. If you REALLY want tickets, write BIG OLE CHECKS year in and year out. Bigger ones than I can afford.

I dont think a decade is much of a stretch, unless renewals really drop off.

That was from another guy in another thread. With the average cutoff a few years back @ 5400, it seems like 18 points may be ranked around that cutoff.

IMO this will be happening over the next 3-4 years.

I agree with this.

When I started getting football season tickets in '02, they called me after I graduated and solicited me to buy season tickets. Very different times now.

If you don't mind me asking, how many points have you accumulated. As you can see, I don't know much about the TAF system and I am just trying to gauge if the investment is practical and worth moving forward with it.

every year point totals are gonna go up, and if a couple thousand people donate, then at minimum everyones points will go up by 3. Ive been in the 6500 range the last 2 years, and havent really gone up.

Its definitely worth it if you ever want tickets, just get some points going until you can afford some big money.

uh no, a decade or so is about right. This guy will NEVER climb any higher in TAF if he gives the minimum $100 a year b/c everyone else is also giving that same amount or more and have a head start on him. He's not going to jump anybody.

Ok, here is another questions. From the looks of it, you don't get any difference in points from donated $100 a year vs donating $4999 a year (Being $100-$4,999 net you 3 pts). Is that accurate?

Changes every day. People are constantly donating. As people make their donations for the 2010 football season tickets, my number will drop a few every day. When I make the donation for 2010 football tickets, it will drop a little.

Think about ALL of the people with parking passes, suites, champions and stadium club tickets, football tickets in the lower bowl and any number of additional donations made for tax reasons that people are making EVERY DAY. All of the items listed above are THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars. Anyone donating $100 a year is kidding themmselves if they think they will ever get football tickets.

Priority Points are a serious business. The TAF page discusses how to will them to your kids. Their is a page on divorce and how Priority Points are split. Ask yourself how bad you want tickets and start writing checks as big as you can afford. Good news is a portion is tax deductable.
