He’s finally figured this group out over the past several weeks and again CJJ was brilliant yesterday. He’s always impressed me with his intuition over analytics (Pearson being in the 4 spot) in the most important games.
I know it’s easy to scratch your head at some of his decisions in a game on a Sunday in early March but like he said last night after the game that “everything trains you for something.” You have to put/keep guys in certain scenarios to see how they perform in order to figure out which buttons to press when the lights are the brightest.
Tonight is why you’re a fan! One game season for a chance to host a Super at home. Let’s GEAUX!

When you have your players to play their hearts out, you win. CJJ is doing just that.

Honestly my only gripe with JJ last night is I think he pulled Hurd too early. That walk was squeezed AF and the hit was just a lucky location. He was still doing fine IMO. Loer's BEST is no better than how Hurd was playing in that moment. Now we likely burned both Anderson and Guidry when I feel Hurd could've got you through the 7th.
But it's a very minor gripe. We won a game we probably shouldn't have with the pitching we have.
We also got really lucky on quite a few warning track hits while they had runners on base. Had the wind been blowing just a hair out this would have been a double digit game for both teams.
Also, poor Tommy White, Gallagher ate his lunch by making like 3 highlight reel double hit saves diving between second and third. Every ground ball he caught was 105-110mph FFS, by the third time Tommy was just laughing at the stupidity of it.

A thousand up votes for this thread and JJ.JAY has a read on his team like only a great HC.
IMO Jay Johnson is the best coach at LSU since Bertman.
