He's a grown man, if a grown man legally changes his name and wants to be called Mahmoud Abdul Rauf then I'll call him Mahmoud Abdul Rauf.

Didn't Patrick Peterson's mom name him Patrick Johnson. What do you call him?

I do actually have to look his name up because I always think of him as Chris Jackson.

I am sure glad I read the twitter responses to that clip. Perhaps one day this place will be so gracious to and appreciative of one of the best college athletes of all time.

To the original poster, thank you for posting the clip. Brought back great memories.

A lot of people give a frick, loser! I’m a veteran and sitting for the national anthem is disrespectful! Don’t worry about what I think my thoughts will never change. Chris Jackson was my favorite LSU b-ball player of all time that I have no respect for!

So you don't respect someone just because they don't share the same religious beliefs as you? That's short sighted man.

I'm sure he doesn't give a rats arse what you think Stephen. He is his own man and lives his life how he sees fit. Its comments like this, that make me wish certain people weren't fans of the program.

So he sits for the national anthem. You probably squat when you piss...

Would you call Gerald Ford, Leslie King, because that’s what his mama named him originally?

They guy was enjoyable to watch play the game. I didn’t get to see him at LSU but I saw him play in Sac.

If you were a veteran then you should be the first to defend his beliefs. I lost a brother in Vietnam and my father was in WWII and Korea. Both would tell you that they fought for freedom which is defined as freedom of religion, expression, voting, bear arms, and the other rights our Constitution guarantees us. If he wanted to sit and burn a flag during the national anthem then he should be free to do so.
You can and should dislike it and express your views. The same Constitution that protects him protects you.

Can’t have it both ways.

I agree. Everyone has a brain. Everyone has their own beliefs and thoughts. Unless, someone is killing another person, let them have their personal beliefs. I can barely change my thoughts much less change other’s beliefs and opinions.

You cannot make a person conform to your ideals anyway. Best thing to do is let people believe the ideas that are in their head and cherish the diversity. If you could make others think like you or I , you would have robots and not free-willed individuals.

Respect life and allow others beliefs to exist.
