You know it’s true, that’s why you are getting triggered.

In the context of a 9-hole hitter that is good and experienced in the field, he’s a solid player.
In the context of which 3 LSU OFs give you the best upside, an argument can be made for Pearson LF, Curiel CF, Brown RF.
The reality is that LSU would remain as a top defensive team with those 3, and would have a lot more pop in the lineup.
So the question becomes what does Stanfield offer that, say, Pearson doesn’t. Speed is one thing but we have not really seen Stanny use that speed to translate into much added production. He doesn’t steal bases etc. Will he hit for better avg than a guy like Pearson? Probably 20 pts higher if I’m guessing, but you offset that with the pop you get from someone like Pearson. You get no HR threat with Stanny.
Sounds great…if you completely ignore defense….which you did.
And
In conference:
Ops
Stanfield 1.075
Pearson .875
Your favorite:
Batting average
Stanny leading the team at .395 to pearsons .241.
Weighted runs created
Stanfield 153
Pearson 97
Yeah, bench stanfield

I’m also not a fan of dead pull hitters, I think they’re limited against quality pitching. Stanny does well when he can ambush pitches early. He does have very good hands.
Let’s see how he continues to do against quality arms. It’s very fair to suggest Pearson will struggle too. I’d actually love to see Larson get more run, he’s not the fielder those two are but a better hitter imo.
I do think Stanfields speed has been overplayed. He doesn’t use it as effectively as his reputation would suggest. I think Curiel actually has better instincts in the field which compensate for speed. He’ll be a plus CF.

Stanfield has had some clutch at-bats in pivotal situations. If it wasn’t for the pitching this series, he might be mvp, for the timing of his hits to swing the momentum….props!!

True but so has Pearson
Notable that everyone was slapping around those arms after the first inning. 15 hits

All the players that you’ve hated on that are playing well. Can’t we just wait and see if they start playing bad before we can say they are good? Please?

Very polite of you but no Im sorry I can’t grant that request Lezzy.
In part because it’s false. Relating to Stanny, I’ve not cried to bench him, I’ve simply said I’d like to see Curiel get some run at CF because I think he’d do as good of a job.
It seems clear that Jay is hesitant to put freshmen into key defensive positions. Look at Milam last year, Jay basically admitted such.
In the context of your 9-hole hitter, I’ve never said Stanny is garbage. Trust me, we’ve lived through many Maineri 9-hole hitters in recent history to know
I’ve simply opined that LSU could have a more potent lineup with others. He gives you zero power and his speed doesn’t translate offensively very often. He’s a career .290ish dead pull hitter.
That’s fine for the bottom. I’d only suggest we have better bats on the bench that could help us when the competition gets much harder in May and June.
Let’s see how it plays out.

Whoa superstars. I never went to that level. Skenes is a superstar
My argument was no proven stars coming back (that was also assuming Bear could go in the draft).
I think it was you and many others arguing Larson was one lolll
