I think you misunderstood his comment. He was comparing Bama getting the nod in 2011 with Mich not getting the nod in 2006.

The question I have is, if LSU loses to them again (very small chance of an LSU win IMO). Will LSU fans/writers continue to make the case LSU and Bama are equals OR LSU is better?

I hate idiotic, pedantic arguments of this genre that myopically focus on irrelevant statistics while overlooking the blatantly obvious: namely, that Bama has three titles in the last four years and LSU has...zero. Any honest poster here would trade Bama's last three seasons for our own.
It's the equivalent of arguing that Team A was better than Team B because Team A had more yards or was superior according to some obscure statistical metric, while completely ignoring the fact that the final score of the actual game was Team B 35 Team A 14.
