I believe this defense is discounted because there aren't any star names like Patrick Peterson, Mathieu, Mingo, Brockers etc but this game will prove just how good this defense is and can be.

Man, 26 has been everywhere lately. Seems like no matter where the play goes, dude is right there. Kind of Debo when he gets in.

I feel like this thread is missing something. I was expecting "Chavis knew LSU defense would be better this year", and that's why...

The Tigers are also No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 in the country in points allowed a game with 8.0, and LSU is No. 1 in the SEC and third nationally in total defense with 205.7 yards given up a game.

Negatigers can only point to our schedule, as if they want us to fail. All SEC teams have played about the same caliber of schedule, or worse. If Bama had the leading defense at this point that's all you'd hear from the media.

Face it, WE GOOD!

FFS...we had so many high picks and 1st rounders on that defense

And what was their longest streak of quarters/possessions without allowing a point?

Why are so many LSU fans like you shittling all over a defense that is already way better than last year and just did something that hadn't been done in almost 30 years.

Will this D be as good as 2011? Maybe, maybe not, but damn no need to act like this defense is trash.

This is why sometimes I hate other LSU fans

Just for comparison:
2013 1st 3 games (TCU, UAB, Kent) defense gave up 248 yard and 19 points per game

2014 against very similar levels of competition (Wisconsin, Sam Houston and ULM) defnese is giving up 205 yards and 8 points per game with 2 shutouts.

Thats almost 50 yards less per game allowed and 11 less points per game allowed.

But yep, we are no better, chief sucks, Les sucks, 7th place in the West here we come.

It really seems like most you dipshits are only happy when we lose and can't bear the thoguht of not complaining.

Gordan was actually hurt just before the end of the first half. That's why we were able to catch him on that long run to begin the second half. I don't remember who hit him but remember thinking, "ouch, that looked like it hurt". There coach mentioned it when talking about why he didn't get more touches the second half, their fans were giving him hell about it. If anyone has replayed the game and knows the play I'm talking about, please let me know who made that tackle. It was huge.

This defense is better than 2013/2012 but not as good as 2011 obviously
