You edited the "then get back to me" part.

Some of us who go to evey game like to hope. But when people hope you are too cool to accept that.

Why cheer if you dont have hope?

Win 4 of the last 6 games and 2 wins in the SEC tourney. In for the NIT for sure and long shot on NCAA. Anything more than that and we are in the NCAA. Quality wins against Mizzou and Tenn would help.

I didn't edit any part of my post...and I'm not trying to bring anyone down. I'll even be the first to agree that LSU men's basketball is the most fun it has been in 4 years by far. If our non-conference schedule wasn't so embarrassingly weak, I'd be drinking the NCAA Kool-Aid by the pitchers. Sadly, though, a realistic look at our body of work indicates otherwise. I really hope we get a good seed in the NIT and next year have a more competitive OOC schedule.

Hopefully the women's NCAA tournament doesn't interfere, I believe that was one of the issues last year and it sucked.

I think anything short of winning the SEC tournament and we miss the tournament. We may be a bubble team but the losses to Auburn and SC is what is going to burst that bubble. Had we won over Marquette it would've been a huge help also. Here's hoping though, it would be an excellent way to end CJJs honeymoon season.
Also I think the way the team is playing our chances for the NIT are getting better by the day. Anything other than a huge collapse and were in.

If Florida loses to anyone in the SEC tournament, then any team can win it.

Mizzou is coached by Frank Haith. Kentucky is awful without Noel. Arkansas is only good at home. Alabama is 9-3 in conference play, only because of the overall mediocrity of the league.

Someone is likely stealing a tournament bid if Florida loses.

ETA: We're not even close to being a bubble team. There's 0% chance of us making the tourney without winning the SEC Tournament.

NCAA - 0%

NIT - 55% (better than 50%)

You need to go back and read my post on the previous page.

Above .500 in conference, two wins in the SEC tournament. If we did that, we'd be 21-10. We'd definitely be a bubble team at that point.

What would our RPI be with a record of 21-10? Probably 70 something?

Probably would depend a lot on where our 6 wins and 2 losses came from.

Oh bullshite. We should definitely make the NIT. Would probably make the NCAA with a 5 and 1 finish and then 2 wins in the SEC tourny......unlikely I know. But, we are playing better and I wouldn't write that completely off.

I can't stand it when someone would rather just "go down with the ship", then simply admit they were wrong. Like anyone gives a shite about their original opinion. lol

I appreciate your work going back 10 years...but a lot of it really isn't valid this year. The SEC is the 8th best conference right now based on RPI. The last 4 years, the league ranked 4th, 6th, 4th, and 6th. We aren't getting "middle of the road" teams in this year. And playing 2 extra league games further waters down the league. 20 wins is not a magic number in this league. 4 years ago, the league champion LSU Tigers got an 8 seed in the NCAAs in a year where the league was 6th inRPI. Beyond Florida, this league is very mediocre. All of those bad non conference losses by Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi St. and others are biting the league as a whole in the arse right now.

Also, right now,LSU has exactly 3 wins over top 100 teams...Missouri, Texas A&M, and NW State. That's not nearly enough. Also, LSU has 9 wins vs. teams with RPI over 200. That's way too many. Of LSU's 6 league wins, 4 of them are almost worthless RPI wise...Vandy is 164, SC is 209, and MSU is 225 (2 wins over them).

The SEC had NEVER had teams with such horrible RPIs as it does this year.

If LSU gets far in the SEC tourney I think they have a shot. They're a fun team to watch. I wouldn't say the same if Trent wee still here. We'd be scoring 52 a game instead of 70..
