In the NIL age, players are only on a 1 year contract. No player is a lock to play out their eligibility. You can play for LSU for $4M and win a natty, and then play for (insert team) for $5M the following year and LSU can buy someone else. Each year, the players get to use the free market to determine their value and schools get to decide to pay the player their ask or let them go. It’s that simple. Chambliss is the top choice based on his performance and familiarity with Kiffin. And it puts Ole Miss in the position to find and develop someone new.

I would take Chambliss over everyone in the portal. He is the ideal college QB. He has a good arm, good legs, very accurate, anticipates guys getting open and doesn't stare down receivers. Give him and Lane a good OL and let them go to town.

I would agree. Ole Miss had more talent last year than they do this year - the biggest difference is Chambliss IMHO. And that's saying alot given the guy they had last year was a 3rd year starter who is starting in the NFL this year, but Chambliss just brings something extra, he's a more dynamic runner and shines in the big moments and doesn't turn the ball over as much as his predecessor.

I have wondered aloud many times had the original starter not gotten hurt would Chambliss have gotten a fair shot this year. As i said before not an easy question to answer.

I hope we get Chambliss if for no other reason than to send Ole Miss fans over the edge!!
