Which one does it relate to?
Example...
" Chalk one up for the good guys"?
" She had a chalky substance around her nose"

What does chalk mean in slang?
When a horse is the favorite, or has the most money bet on it that horse is termed the "chalk." In the pre computer days a horse became the "chalk" because the horse's name would disappear in chalk dust as the bookie constantly erased and lowered the horse's odds.

Pretty sure the expression outdates the earliest hip hop. Maybe even jazz.

If you live in BR or NOLA, this word is second nature.

It refers to the betting favorite. The tournament has been loaded with chalk winners. Meaning no real super huge upsets or underdogs winning. Back in the day they posted the spreads on a chalk board and the favorite would be the one with the chalk number beside it. Hence, the phrase chalk.

The analysts stated multiple times before the tournament started that this was a “chalk” bracket...
Meaning among all of the matchups l, the team with the higher seed would most likely be the winner.
7 seed vs. 10 seed = 7 seed will probably win.
