You people need to accept that there is no perfect system.

The supposedly populist BCS gave us Oklahoma vs. LSU in 2003 (when EVERYONE wanted USC vs. LSU). Sometimes algorithms spit out obviously "wrong" results. Same with Bama getting another shot in 2011.

At its best, the committee is able to exercise common-sense judgment to prevent stupid computer-driven decisions that nobody who's remotely unbiased wants to see. Of course, the committee members are human so subject to human biases and blind spots, which is why they have Ohio State ahead of LSU.

But enough with this nonsense about how the computers would solve everything!

we should just dump the playoff system and determine the champion the way used to be, via the AP and Coachs polls. That was the most "populist way". When you think about it, the playoffs are completely unneccessary
