Yeah, I think all their picks are good bets, just not done deals. They'd be crazy to set too much in stone this early.

Didn't LSU already issue a formal respone to this very same schedule?

not sure about this, but i feel like it isnt a choice. they will show lsu-bama in louisiana, and alabama, and they will show uga-kentucky in georgia and kentucky. dunno about other states, if they do it by regions, or show the better game. what im saying is i live in georgia and will see the ga game.

LSU “refuting” the preliminary schedule is one way to say it I guess. Another way to say it is that this year will be exactly like previous years.

CBS announces a preliminary schedule. If a team has much better or worse year than expected, CBS reserves the right to choose a different game. Some years the preliminary schedule doesn’t change, other years 1 or 2 of the games do change. But for the most part the preliminary schedule is what CBS will broadcast.

Same as it ever was…

Good point but in the case of the UGA at LSU game i think their would be high ratings for that one at primetime considering it is likely to be between two top 10 teams

if LSU and UGA are both top 5 i can see rankings playing a huge part, but even a battle of 2 top 10 teams would be hard to gain more national interest than bama/tenn

also, you have to look at ohio state/penn state and illinois/wisconsin as ABC games for that night...LSU/UGA would be hard pressed to "out rate" ohio state/penn state on ABC

Are you the same person who edited the fantastic Youtube synopses of the 2007 games?

If so, kudos. You have a great talent for capturing the essence of the game flow.

same thing they said last year...but they selected games from the ones they announced early in the season

unless something unforseen happens, those games listed are the ones you will be seeing on TV

Don't the networks have some sort of draft before the season starts where they claim the top 10 games?

I think CBS gets to pick #1, #2, #4, #5, #6, #7, #10

ESPN gets to claim rights to #3, #8, #9?

Any games not involved go into the normal pecking order where CBS gets first dibs, then ESPN, then JP/LF/Raycom.

Isn't this how it works? I know it has been leaked that ESPN got Aub-LSU and Bama-UGA. I presume that LSU-UGA, FL-LSU, FL-UGA, FL-UT would be sandwiched around ESPN's first pick.

ESPN got to choose 3 SEC games of the week over CBS. This is the last year though, the new SEC - CBS contract now gives CBS first choice every week.

Those things are great. Please post more from previous seasons, if possible. I search Youtube every week for new videos by "Mikedtiger." Most Youtube recaps focus on the same highlight plays over and over. By contrast, watching your videos is like viewing a condensed version of the games themselves, with all of the back and forth, swings in momentum, and drama. And you do it without ridiculous, distracting graphics or cheesy music. Just the game sounds and the commentary. Classic.

Looks like night games will no longer be a tradition at LSU.

Do you happen to know Eric Keener?

If so tell him hello for me?

Wow, really? That's surprising. ESPN has been pretty good to the SEC in terms of putting up money, working out OOC game deals and giving exposure to the lesser schools.

CBS must have unloaded a truckload of cash to hedge ESPN out of the best games every week, not to mention a few doubleheaders.

With the way teams are balancing out the schedules to accomadate the TV networks, this will effectively be the death blow for great SEC night games.

Unfortunately that looks to be the case. That's the price we pay for success. The alternative giving us more night games would not be acceptable.

Well shoot, if I'm going to get quoted I guess I should try an confirm it:

SEC signs 15-year TV deal with CBS
quote:

Starting in 2009, CBS will have the right to pick the SEC football game it wants every week. Under the current agreement, ESPN has the first pick on a handful of weeks.

CBS, SEC sign record 15-year deal
quote:

But in this new deal CBS did get the right to pick the first football game during every week of the regular season. In the previous deal ESPN got the first pick a few weeks out of the season.
