The reason there is not much discussion on Gibbs is simple because hes overrated! He proved that with his throwing. His hitting is decent and his fielding is phenominal! He cant throw anyone out. And imho I think hes a work in progress.

agreed, it often takes the longest to break in at this position. He'll get there, but I doubt it's as quick as 2-3 years.

So I'm guessing you didn't watch him play 2 years ago when he threw out a bunch of runners?

Jonathan Lucroy was drafted in 2007 and is in the majors now.

That's nice. Catchers still take longer to break in. It was Lucroy's 4th year in the pro's when he broke in, right? LINK

what? you don't hit 11 home runs and not have enough pop, especially for a catcher. this isn't the era with 2 3/4 in barrels and juiced players anymore. a double digit home run season is good.
