Isn't it the Clapinski kid that's a senior this year and committed to LSUE? We're evaluating him.

If for no other reason than his experience catching velo and stuff, he's going to continue to get opportunities.

Come on dude. Unless Schmidt's catcher is playing college baseball somewhere right now then this is just ridiculous.

Actually, it’s not.

Some of you simply don’t understand the difference between a “prospect” and a “player”.

Arrimbide is a great “prospect”. He has wonderful tools and talents. He has a high ceiling. But… right now, his floor is very low.

Another kid can be a good “player” right now, but he’s not a great “prospect” because he’s already at his ceiling. However, his floor could be quite a bit higher right now than a great “prospect” like Arrimbide.

Ya, I didn't think so...

No, but I thought that was pretty clear when I said.....

Yes, it's dumb to say that some random high school catcher is better right now than Arambede, unless there is a specific catcher we are talking about that is a legit baseball prospect.

If it's just your run of the mill HS catcher than his ceiling, floor, everything is way lower than Arambede.

I think people are really underestimating how difficult of a position catcher is. Especially at the collegiate level. Our midweek guys have MLB speed and spin with HS control.

Now I played catcher so I’m a bit bias, but a lot of people are failing to understand how difficult it is to block up a spiked 95 mph fastball, or a spiked curve with crazy spin rate.

Yes pitchers will bury breaking balls in the dirt, those are controlled into the dirt and the catcher knows it’s coming.

It’s more difficult to catch in college than it’s ever been. Cade will get better. Last night was a rough night.
