Fans at LSU athletic events will be able to purchase concessions and merchandise using one of four payment types:

All major credit cards
Apple Pay
Android Pay
Tiger Cash
For those fans that do not have one of the four payment types available, LSU is working on a prepaid credit card purchase option.

Its great having all of those option available, but completely removing the option to pay with cash is absurd.

Is it? It's 2020 and if you can't at the least get yourself a prepaid Visa gift card, then sucks for you.

This won’t affect me. I haven’t bought any concessions with cash since 2019.

I am happy to see it. Just another reason to opt out this year and get my TAF, tickets, and stadium seat money back. My opinion only. Do what you want. Your choice.

I see no issue with this. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've used cash in the last year.

It's 2020. Yall need to get with the program.

The other day the power company double charged me. I called them to get it sorted out and they said that they would reverse it, but it would take 7-10 business days. I thought that was a bit long, but okay. 10 business days pass and no money. I call again, turns out they sent a paper check in the mail to me on the 9th day.

In 2020, they sent me a paper check.

You can debate whether it is ridiculous all you want. What you cannot debate is the fact that it is illegal to not accept cash. If they go forward with this plan, I will walk up to the concession stand place my order & give them a $20 bill. When the person says we don’t accept cash I will take my food & drink to my seat and continue to watch the Tigers kick somebody’s arse.

Pull out any denomination of US currency you wish. Look on the left side of the bill. Clearly printed on that bill is the following statement: “THIS BILL IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE”

What that means is that if I wish to purchase an item from LSU Athletics (I owe a public entity a debt for that purchase) they must accept that form of payment (legal tender) for the debt that I owe to them for the product being purchased.

Also beware that LSU will probably raise prices to cover the transaction fees for card purchases. This is usually 2-4%. So expect a 5-10% price increase.

I was thinking more about people younger than college age. I didn’t realize everybody from 6th grade on up has a credit or debit card now.
