Can't understate the CFP's decision to drop us to #2 behind Ohio State

Coach O that Wednesday morning got with Dave Aranda and did serious work.

I said to everyone that would listen that was the worst thing you could have done. The rest of the college football world would pay the ultimate price.

The rest is, as we say, history.

I think the main reason was because it looked like Bama would be #4 and the last thing they wanted was a rematch between LSU and Bama unless it was in championship game.

That way LSU and Bama would have beaten the other 2 teams that would have a claim to reach title game.

That has ZERO to do with why we won. We won because we were simply the best team in college football. If we would have stayed at #2, we would have crushed Clemson and then beat the breaks off of OSU. Nobody was stopping this team from winning. They were just better than everybody else this year.

Pretty much sums it up. It's a good thing for the rest of college football that LSU wasn't a complete team in 2019. Imagine how bad we'd really beaten Oklahoma and Clemson...
