If we play like yesterday, we will win out and make our best bowl game since 2011. Quite the achievement that would be after losing to Troy!

I don't think y'all understand the purpose of the Jet Sweep. It's not that it's meant to get big yardage, it's really meant to open up other opportunities like running Lanes up the middle

With a throwing threat this team would be championship caliber. Along with 3-4 mor of the teams in the last decade.

It's the same old song and dance. Unfortunately my confidence level in getting it fixed is not high. This season they have mismanaged Brennan, and etling hasn't improved.

I hope they show something that they haven't shown. but after 10 seasons of crap at the most important position on the field I'm in the "don't tell me. Show me." camp.

I'm surprised, really surprised you got as much support as you did. I don't agree, Canada's offense is gimmicky and the jet sweep works in some spots during games, but he calls it waay too much. You don't need to call it that much to set up a defense, the passing has been a huge disappointment once again as I expected to see much more passing under this guy. Top WR's will stop committing to LSU, it's simple as that, why go to a school that hardly throws the football. People want to see modern offenses these days that throw the football a helluva a lot using 3, 4 WR sets, and also throwing to TE's regularly. Using the pass to set up the run is what will keep defenses confused and off their game. LSU has athletic TE's(Washington, Peiitgrew) and don't even use them instead they throw the ball on occasions to the unathletic TE's(Moreau and someone else), Washington should be frustrated and I don't know how he hasn't transferred already. But that's just my two cents.

“ The scheme is exactly what we need “

In SEC games that scheme is passing for fewer yds., throwing fewer passes, completing fewer passes, and scoring less points Per game than we did in 2015. And that was with Harris as QB and a stronger SEC.

It's been a long time since I felt this good about the OC n Baton Rouge. If any of his friends and family read this PLEASE stay in Baton Rouge another year at least ! We finally have the right combination of coordinators we just don't have the roster where it needs to be but O grimes Raymond and Austin can get us there. Win out and close in feb and I like this team next season on both lines and at qb especially

Disagree about it being gimmicky. If Alabama had shut us down, I would agree with you, but it looks like everything has a purpose and it's effective. When's the last time we outgained Alabama? And it's not like it's a bunch of trick plays that are just one offs. He's making defenses defend the width of the field which opens up running lanes and deep routes. Last night was pretty much the offense I've been expecting to see all year. I thought the balance was very good.

Also disagree about WR recruits. We threw the ball 31 times. That's going to appeal to WR recruits. We also give WRs plenty of opportunities to run the ball and make plays in space. Our coaches can easily play this tape for QB and WR recruits and point out all of the missed opportunities we had and sell recruits that they can make those plays we missed last night.

Anyway, I understand and share the frustration with losing to Alabama again, but I'm encouraged by what I saw last night.

It was interesting to see how adding a little bit of creativity to the offense produced better results instead of trying to run up the middle on the best program in the country.

We had them on their heels just could not close the game

Look at these Stats

Its not Canada's fault that Etling can't read a defense, can't throw a receiver open, and can't throw a ball more than 40 yards.

We have guys getting open. We just don't have a QB to get them the ball.

LSU gained over 300 yards on offense (including 151 rushing yards) on the best defense in the country. And that was with mediocre quarterback play. I'm looking forward to seeing the numbers Canada can put up when he has a good QB with a good arm and accuracy to work with. I definitely want Canada to stay on as the OC.

Exactly. Etling's skillset is very limited. If Brennan is the real deal, I think the passing game next season will be much better.

I am too. LSU wasn't dominated on the lines and without the gift INT Etling threw up, it turns into a seven point game. And if Etling doesn't underthrow that pass to Chark (who almost caught it anyway), that was probably another seven points for LSU. If LSU can keep Aranda and Canada around, I see a bright future.

there is no doubt in my mind that canada has proven himself this season. he understands the opponent and schemes against them specifically based on his personnel. however, i was disappointed last night. where were the te's? how about the seam route? why weren't guice and williams in the same grouping like the ole miss game? no trick plays at all? these are all simple things to add/execute maybe with the exception of the trick plays.

i get that someone could say the situation/opponent didn't call for that but, you're losing 14-3 with 2.5 mins and timeouts. at this point, you've got nothing to lose. you've lost 6 in a row to this team and 2 bad losses this season. i would MUCH rather have seen them throw caution to the wind than try not to lose for a moral victory. freakin ball out like spurrier. yes i know etling is the limiting factor. all the more reason to go crazy. we lost by 2 td's for crying out loud. it didn't work and the game was never in doubt

ok, it's over and there's no shame in losing to bama. these next 3 games are imminently winnable. this needs to be a comfortable 3 game winning streak.
